I am more concerned about the money the Bush Administration is sending to China. I am more worried about oil companies cheating the I.R.S. with the help of the Bush Administration and the Republican controlled Congress. I am more worried about the $6 billion dollars in tax money that just disappeared one day in Iraq. Our trade deficit is due to poor leadership not people working in the fields for pennies on the dollar.
I believe all the illegal immigrants that want to feed their familes have more of a right to be in the United States than all the Republicans in the world.
The immigrants where I live are from Mexico. They work hard. They earn their money. They are a asset to the community. If you look at the majority of people fighting in the United States Armed forces you will find minorities; who were, or came from, "illegal" immigrants. There are more sons and daughters form illegal immigrants; fighting for your freedom, then people in the Bush Administration or Congress.
We are a Nation under God. We are a Christian Nation. Ask yourself a difficult question. What would Jesus do? Don't forget He was an "illegal" too.

So the real problem is the money illegal immigrants are getting while working in the U.S. That's easy to solve. Do a few raids every month on their employers and make them pay the difference per illegal employee to the government. If employers see that it's going to cost them the same in the end to employ a legal immigrant or citizen (and less bad publicity), they'll naturally stop hiring illegal immigrants.
Why doesn't the government enforce all those laws they've passed on these employers? Hmmm, I wonder who some of the major employers of illegal immigrants are? I wonder what their connections are in the government and immigration legislation? (If anyone knows, please email me with a source)

I gotta agree with NamGem who answered earlier. We can blame the illegals all we want but it's the American companies that hire illegals instead of American citizens that are to blame. And why do these companies hire them? Because they can pay them less, don't have to pay taxes on them or pay them benefits. Our system is what is screwed up here, but I can't fault the illegals that come here looking for a better life. We have to change the system so it's not appealing for them to come here.

You can't blame the illegals for wanting to survive and have their families back home survive. They're the "little guy" in this issue. If you really want to get somewhere, punish the employers and individuals who hire them. There was a report back a few months ago that many of the illegals are hired by individual homeowners to do handyman and reconstruction work around their homes. So the problem is....us!

It looks like Mexico's #1 import, is US money. This is the second question I've seen of yours on here on this topic. You seem pretty interested in it. Write me an article about your opinions and e-mail it to explicit_opinions@yahoo.com, and if it's entertaining enough, I'll publish it.

I don't see the problem being cured in the near future either! Lets face it, businesses want the illegals for cheap labor, politicians want the illegals for the possibility of them being able to vote....so the average "Joe" is stuck picking up the tab with increased taxes to cover this and other losses.
Looks like its up to "us" to complain to our elected ones to put a stop to this madness!

Yes I really do believe it. Besides what you mention, they drive down wages pushing working class into poverty and over strain our schools, removing upward mobility for the children of all who can't afford private school.

What about the employers, aren't they American? They take advantage of the illegal immigrants and exploit them for labour, they willingly pay them under the table, are they not also part of the problem then? Americans destroy other Americans, Americans destroy themselves at times, let us not use illegal immigrants as the scapegoat for our maladies. I agree there is a problem here but there are many to blame.
