I am Australian. The aborigines here believe that a huge snake during an era called the "Dreamtime"created the earth. They call it the "Rainbow Serpent".......
Why don't you worship the Australian Rainbow Serpent? For the same reason why nobody but the Greeks used to worship Zeus......
Zeus is like a comic book superhero. Legend.

People who worshipped Zeus realized after a while that he was not answering his e-mail messages.
Jews in the past believed in blood sacrifices, then after Jesus came with God's message that blood sacrifices was not as important as harmony, justice, and forgiveness. The Jews stopped making blood sacrifices. Why? Same as with Zeus, God did not give them any credit for making blood sacrifices. The early Christians said, "Ah ha, Jesus' blood on the Cross was the substitute for blood sacrifices. And, you know the rest of that story.
Now comes why there are so many Christians, in spite of the fact that there are so many fanatical selfish religious leaders who will do anything or say anything about God or Jesus or Sin in order to build their empires.
It's rather simple, have you guessed it?
It is because when they (we) pray to God, he occasionally answers us, not necessarily immediately, he needs to check his E-mail computers on Planet H, and then decide what kind of advice to give us. If we ask him to do something for us, he must determine if the results would be harmonious or disharmonious(not by pre-destiny, but by pure logic he decides that)
Now, what is God's message and How can we go to Planet H (Heaven) after our stay here on Planet Earth?
God's Message:
Harmony is harmony.
Disharmony is the only sin against God.
If you live your life trying to be harmonious, then after your stay here on Earth you will be reconstructed and allowed to Go to Planet H (Heaven) and live with the other harmony-loving folks there.
If you choose disharmony, then you will be sent to Planet HD, not as a punishment, but as a means of quarantining you away from the harmony loving folks.
A pretty simple system. Only selfish religious leaders would complicate such a system in order to confuse us and require us to attend church instead of helping our neighbors.
Zeus, eh? Sounds like you are looking for God, but in all the wrong places. Churches, ironically, are the wrong places.
When you attend church, you are falling into the reverse chicken trap.

wow, do you worship Zeus? If so that's great, I had thought that religion died out. I am a big fan, seriously, I'm not joking. I figured after the mono-deistic convince of Christianity killed off the whole "Greek god" thing it just faded away.
word to Applonius! (christians look it up)

There are. There are a number of Reconstructionist Pagan faiths out there, and Zeus, along with others, have their followings. They just aren't as numerous as the Christians.

You are so right. People don't understand the impact Zeus has had on our culture let alone the weather as we know it. Praise on.
