No way, kids need more vitamins and minerals in their diet than adults do. If they aren't getting any kind of good nutrition out of their daily meals, then you could try giving them those kids vitamins, better than nothing and its a big help if they are simply a picky eater!

The parents or care takers of this child are not doing the right thing totally not a healthy diet. Real bad, a child should learn to try every thing use the taste buds. I Say Grow up to the guardian(s)
children don't make the rules.
I was taught to taste it if I didn't like I didn't have to eat it.
A child should sit at the table and eat what the rest of the family is eating (UNLESS HEALTH ISSUES ARE IN AFFECT) If the guidance of the person raising this child doesn't know the healthy way to feed a child, there is away for them to learn. There are the 4 food groups to a healthy diet and now of all times they should learn. You can give a child a choice of 2 things to eat and that is it. As a person grows tastes do change but with out tasting different food you will never know. Don't do this if they won't try it then they don't eat, eventually a healthy child will become hungry and will eat, Don't restrict a diet to anyone ESPECIALLY A CHILD

heavens no! I know as a mother of 2 it is sometimes hard to get them to eat anything else, but hotdogs are very unhealthy on a daily basis. They are packed with nitrates and sodium which can raise blood pressure and also cause gout. This is not something you want to start in your child. If he just insists on a hotdog, try Jenni-o turkey dogs, they tast just the same, but are somewhat healthier. They still have alot of salt in them though. Try experimenting with other foods. I wish the best for you, I know this can be troubling to be dealing with. My little boy has a sweet tooth! Good luck.

NO- it's not healthy. Children esp.ly need everything on the food pri. - fruit and veggies included- or he/she isn't getting all the minerals and vitimins needed. Thats what's wrong with parents today - they let there children run there own lives rather then caring enough and making them something healthier to eat! and taking all the candies. etc. away until the meal is completed.

well i would try to offer him other things through out the whole day maybe he will try them and like it. but i don't think it's the greatest for him but it will not hurt him unless he was to get constipated, otherwise kids go through phases and i'm sure this is a phase ju try to feed him other things as much as possible, my son went through a phase at about 2 yrs. old and he would'nt eat nothing at all he just wanted his sippy cup so i tried to take it away and I talked to the pediatrician because that had went on for over a week, so i got really worried doc told me they go through phases they will get hungry enough that they will eat and don't take the sippy away at least he is getting fluids, and he was right one day I gave him spagetti and he ate every bit of it. so just do your best at introducing him to other foods! good luck! lol kids are tricky some times LOL

A diet of only two varieties of food of any sort is not good for anyone. He should be eating vegetables and fruit as well as meat and cereal. You will just have to stand your ground and put what you want him to eat in front of him. A child will not starve themselves no matter how they refuse certain foods, so it is up to you to be the strong one and insist on him eating all food groups and not give in to his demands for what food he may want.

that sounds insane,
hotdogs are bad food in the first place ,to give to a 5 year old regularly can almost be classified as a slow murder or at least serious health hazzerd.
kids should have a balanced diet of vegetables, fruit ,juices(not soda pops) and protein .it is irresponsible to breed them into obesity

Maybe you should let him get involved in food selection and preparation - if he has a hand in the cooking or growing of food he might be more willing to expand his diet.
