How can I make heat expanding paint like liquid applique? It puffs when heat's applied.?

There are several on the market, but I want to make it puff more. Like a popcorn effect.

wow, I think it would require some fancy chemistry work to create your own. There is foaming insulation that really puffs up, but whether that will suit your purpose I don't know.
