why do people say the Bible isn't true, when it is recorded in HISTORY that there was a man named Jesus Christ, who spent his life teaching and performing miricals of God? it is a historical fact and people seem to not want to except this little fact of reality. also, marriage, started from religion. that is yet another historical fact. so how is it that people say that it is just the uniting of two consenting adults? why do they leave out the "under God" part???? and why when I post things about gay marriage do people ask why it concerns me and what business is it of mine, when they are basically contadicting themselves just by viewing and answering my question? why do people that don't believe in God leave derogatory comments... what have I said to offend anyone? just by asking a question? ... why be so hostile to people for no reason?

When you speak the truth few will listen . . . . in the end times. It isn't for no reason.

Get it? You will be tested, keep your faith and stand strong. Others will stand with you.

History is hard to deny but easy to leave out.

God Bless and keep reading your Bible as I believe like you that it is true.

While some of it is true, a lot of it is false and the stories are just your basic morality tale designed to get people of the time to lead a good life according to the Jewish teachings of the Torah. While its true there was a Jesus Christ, he was a rabbi (teacher) who was preaching what would be a reformed version of Judaism - not Christianity. There are many tales in the Old and New Testament though that are not based in fact, just as there are a great many contradictions - read the different versions of Jesus' life in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Its evident someone copied off of someone - and remember too, those accounts were written at least 100 years after Jesus' death and have undergone many translations. In most cases, they're nothing like the originals.
As to the gay thing - who gives a crap? If two people love each other, shouldn't they have the same rights as married people? Notably, to make the other person miserable. There's nothing wrong with a civil union which gives the partners certain rights. Actually, I don't care if they get married or not - doesn't bother me one way or the other as long as they don't try to get me to make it a threesome!

I relatively have an excellent situation with any variety of *relationship* that technological understanding makes use of.... there is not any *data* that it quite is precise and could relatively make certain the extraordinary or perhaps come on the brink of the age of human or animal.... As with something, it quite is all purely a an informed wager or a stab at midnight.... I have no clue how old the earth is, or what people looked like returned in the day.... They locate old bones and that they consistently choose to place an ape like face to it.... there is not any data that people looked like that, purely that the bone shape replaced into distinctive.... it relatively is even in data in right this moment's people.....human beings over look some keywords in the Bible, including God made vegetation, *each variety AFTER their very own *, to me that states it replaced into in existence already or at one time in the past the Genesis account of the worldwide.... and different such key factors point out besides.. i do no longer think of issues are made up or placed by the devil or devil, what ever you would be able to call him, yet I do think of there is extra desirable than meets the attention with existence..... basically my humble opinion..... bypass in peace... Because unfortunately you are wrong my friend.
YES, SMALL pieces of the bible are recorded as historical fact. Names, places some major historical events which happened at around the same time etc. The MAJORITY of it is not. In fact most of the Old Testament was completely made up hundreds and hundreds of years before Jesus was born. The New Testament has lost a lot of it's meaning through various translations and religious interpretation (there is more than one "version" of the Bibile you know.) Marriage did indeed start with religion, but NOT with Christianity. People possibly leave negative comments because you are posting your opinion as fact instead of asking a question and allowing others to answer it.
"The Bibile" in it's entirety is NOT recorded as history. That is an undeniable fact.

ya...everyone thought Christopher Columbus was the wonderful discoverer of America, as we were taught in school, only to find out he was a murderous criminal...
It's perfectly healthy and normal to question history and not take everything as fact. We acknowledge that the bible exists but the facts of what is written and how it should be interpreted are what we question.

A note on gay marriage: It's okay to allow non-religious couples to marry so why concern yourself suddenly with the fact that it's a religious thing when gays are interested. If you're going to argue that, perhaps you should attack straight couples as well? Does it really affect YOU if they have a piece of paper that says they're together. Would you honestly know the difference in passing them on the street?...it's not like they're going to turn straight if they can't get married. Live and let live!

History doesn't necessarily make anything true the Bible states how can they believe in whom they have not heard? so if one has not been testified to or preached to how can they believe that it's true or false? just like advertising they tend to show you how a gel capsule dissolves faster in ones blood stream thus bring relief of the pain medicine faster the regular capsules. So they've preached in a since and with demonstration proven this fact so one there fore believes the statement. This also applies to the word of God with demonstration of word and power and by the testimony of two witness every word of the Bible is established

There must be historical records of Jesus. But you should also know this:- that christian scholors THEMSELVES admit that the bible isn't in it's orignal form.

Take a red-letter bible. That means that there are bibles and anything wirtten in red means that JEsus is saying it. Anything wirtten in any other color means someone like St. Paul or someone else added their beliefs. When you see a red-letter bible, you'll realize that the bible you have is so impure there is very little of acual Jesus' sayings.

My take on the Bible is history with a bit of folklore. So not all of it is true. I mean seriously, who was there when God supposedly created the earth and heavens when he hadn't created people yet? Someone wrote that down, but wasn't there. Most of the stuff written about Jesus was written YEARS AFTER he was crucified, and some of it by people who weren't there, so at least some of it is questionable. History is written according to the frame of reference of the person or people writing it.

riiiiight. the sun and moon "stood still" in the sky so a battle could be won. a woman was turned into a salt lick. a man lived inside a giant fish. a guy built a big boat (with one small window for ventilation) and then stuffed mated pairs of every animal on the planet into it. some she bears rip up some little kids for teasing a bald holy man. a blind man is made to see with the application of holy man spit.

yep real historical.

and as for your busybody need to interfere in the lives of gay couples ... well ... if you feel that's your mission in life go for it but one would think that feeding and housing the poor or educating the illiterate would be a more constructive use of time and energy.

Every time something is translated things get confusing, the Bible is translated in so many forms that some people believe that it 'Isn't Accurate' while others believe that somebody made it years after it is said to have been written. Do you believe in Santa Claus? Well whether you do or not everybody is entitled to his or her own opinion. A good number of people live In America, including me, and we have freedom of speech where you can say what you want about gay people and others don't have to believe in God. And BTW people are hostile because they have opinions and are giving the freedom to express them. I think one of the greatest gifts God gave us is the process in our minds to debate issues.

Where did you grow up? I am not gay but do not really care what they do. Why should anybody? Leave people alone. Unfortunatley, we do not have any photography or video of anything pre civil war US. The one big plus for Christianity is that I have never met anyone close to being perfect. And have never heard of anyone that is or was. If Christ was truly what we have heard, he may be because of that fact. I have heard of perfect animals, plants etc. but not humans a very interesting thought.
