I think I would have a very tough time trusting someone who honestly believed he'd heard God speaking to him or who claimed that he'd seen God in person. But if that ever happened, in my mind, that person would earn himself the instant status of "Lunatic" until he could show me some irrefutable evidence that what he said was in fact true.

I'm not at all worried over what I might say or do in that situation, however, since I really have doubts that I'll ever be faced with someone who is so completely over the edge. Those individuals, the most dire head-cases, are already residing in padded cells.

If you know the person, and believe them to be trustworthy, then trust them, if it's something you would trust to someone other than yourself, of course. But believers still sin, and they can still make mistakes. And anyone you meet on the street or on the internet that CLAIMS to be a Christian may not necessarily be one. I wouldn't trust a stranger.

Whatever a person says they have "heard a word from God", verify it in the Bible. God will not say anything different from what is in his Book. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Genesis and Revelation are book ends. The story is written, we know the ending... Are you on the winning side?

If its "new" it isn't true.
If its true it isn't new.

Everyone can hear the word of God from the Holy Bible and listening to pastor talks during services in church. If what they said could be found in the BiBle then i think it is real.

you mean in comparison to what? Never assume. We measure every word from a persons mouth by the word itself. Many are false and this is no new flash.......so whats your point? to state the obvious

NO PRIVATE interpretation of the Bible is ever given.
If it doesn't line up with the Word of God(BIBLE)it is a lie.
This is why we know any new books ,calling them self "Gods Word "are liars.
I think you know what I mean.
