Some people say God must exist, because someone had to create the universe and all matter, and the chances of life 'just happening' are slim. Well, if something had to create us, then something had to create God too, right? Or if God was 'always there'/'always in existence', then why cant you consider the fact that the universe and all matter, could also have been 'always there'/'always in existence'?

To Im A Troll - This isnt to disprove the existence of God, its to discredit the whole 'God must exist because someone had to create us' argument that some people present when arguing over whether or not God exists. If God does in fact exist, then he 'always was', and everything was created by him. However, you cannot prove that God has the special property of having always been in existence, while the universe had to have been created. Therefore, the argument that God must exist because someone had to have created us cannot be used, which, once again, was what my question revolved around.

There is good evidence that the universe had a beginning. This can be shown from the Laws of Thermodynamics, the most fundamental laws of the physical sciences.
1st Law: The total amount of mass-energy in the universe is constant.
2nd Law: The amount of energy available for work is running out, or entropy is increasing to a maximum.
If the total amount of mass-energy is limited, and the amount of usable energy is decreasing, then the universe cannot have existed forever, otherwise it would already have exhausted all usable energy the heat death of the universe. For example, all radioactive atoms would have decayed, every part of the universe would be the same temperature, and no further work would be possible.
So the obvious corollary is that the universe began a finite time ago with a lot of usable energy, and is now running down.
it is self-evident that things that begin have a cause no-one really denies it in his heart. All science and history would collapse if this law of cause and effect were denied. So would all law enforcement, if the police didnt think they needed to find a cause for a stabbed body or a burgled house.
Also, the universe cannot be self-caused nothing can create itself, because that would mean that it existed before it came into existence, which is a logical absurdity.
--------------------------------------------
A number of sceptics ask this question. But God by definition is the uncreated creator of the universe, so the question Who created God? is illogical, just like To whom is the bachelor married?
So a more sophisticated questioner might ask: If the universe needs a cause, then why doesnt God need a cause? And if God doesnt need a cause, why should the universe need a cause? In reply, Christians should use the following reasoning:
Everything WHICH HAS A BEGINNING has a cause.
The universe has a beginning.
Therefore the universe has a cause.
Its important to stress the words in CAPITAL LETTERS. The universe requires a cause because it had a BEGINNING, as will be shown below. God, unlike the universe, had NO BEGINNING, so doesnt need a cause. In addition, Einsteins general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space.
----------------------------------------------------
The Universe, being made of matter, obeys the laws of thermodynamics which pertain to matter.
God is pure SPIRIT. The physical sciences do not (and can not) comprehend non-physical matters such as SPIRIT.

Look at God's Excistence like numbers. What is the first and the last number? negative infinity and postive infinity. There is no start or end. That is what God is like. He created the universe which consists of space, matter, and TIME. Beginning and Ends only exsist where there is a past present and future. God is not controled by time. And matter can not have always of been seeing how that is a direct violation of the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Which to sum up is all things purpose is to end.

Well most people think god was always living no matter what and yet they never thought of it. I have and i have come to the conclusion in my head that god was always living and he thought of what life could be like if he constructed a world with controversy and other things that happen in the world and c what would happen. To c if he could succeed in this adventure or would it all fall apart. Or maybe he just was lonely and wanted little Friends. To answer the other part of Ur ? i think god has powers on belief and if he was in this universe first yet no one had to create him it was just us that needed to be created .

That is a very good and logical thinking. I feel just like a little frog who look into the sky and see the satelites blip-blipping or the aeroplane flying and then said, Oh, it must have been there in existince or come by itself after so many millions of years. No body designed or made them. Then he looked at the computer and said, "Oh that piece of machinery also just happened to come into existence after several millions of years, there could not be created by anyone. There is no maker of those things.
But the difference between that little frog and me is, I studied further and found out that if those satelites and aeroplanes need intelligent beings far smarter than me to design, experiment and finally made it to fly, regardless of the fact that some fell down, crashed into the earth or collided with each other, than it would be too naive for me to think that more perfect objects in the sky like planets and stars and moons (huge giant satelites, if you please) which have been in orbit for thousands and years without failure or collision, must have been designed and created by a better designer and creator than those imperfect human made satelites and airplanes.
Then if I look into a mango tree besides an orange tree, both taking raw materials from the same spot of ground, and yet the mango tree never make a mistake of producing an orange or vice versa, and thinking about the cells in my body taking materials from the food and drinks I take, and after processing it sending it to the various parts of my body, like lips, and hair, without ever making a mistake of sending the wrong materials so that my lips become black and brittle like my hair or my hair become pink and soft like my lips, etc. I can say like the frog, Oh it just happens by chance nobody made it. Or I can say like the writer of the Bible: "The heavens declares the glory of God, the firmament showes his handywork."
and "I have been fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator".
But if the frogs can understand how the satelites and aeroplanes are made and function, or how the computers are made and work, then I would not be much different from them, would I?
And if we can fully understand about God, than He is no longer God, but just like us, having the same capacity to think and make.
No, my friend, I cannot explain about the existence of God any better than the frog could understand about the inventors of computers, or even try to write an article like this on it. Asking you to understand everything about God, would be as cruel as demanding the frogs to understand what I say. May God bless you regardless of what you think and say about Him.

The bible says, "From times indefinite to times indefinite". So it means he's always been, and that no one created him. It's hard for our minds to comprehend this. When I find the scripture, I'll show you.
Found at Psalms 90:2
In addition to those who believe that air, water, laws of the universe just existed, how is that possible? These things were created...just like gravity, physics, breathing, and whatnot. These things were CREATED and people seem to miss this important fact that they take for granted.
All questions are answerable, the bible provides them, you just have to have understanding.

In His Word(Bible) God makes no apology or defense for His existence. Further the word states that He is from everlasting to everlasting(infinity to infinity).

You just got to believe that God was always there, because he was. I know it's hard to understand, but there was no beginning, and there wil be no end. And we do not know when he created the universe, becaue we're not God.

The physical universe and all matter is always changing, that is the nature of time and space. God is in eternity which is unchanging.

You'll get a different answer from Christians, Jews, and every other religion. And from some people, they'll tell you He doesn't exist at all! This is a very tough question. Whatever feels right to you is probably the correct answer.

One good theory that God exists out side of time and time is a necessary illusion. I dont believe in any religion. God i doubt it but who knows.
