the worst spots are on the back of your neck, front of neck, your lower belly and your sides.

The hands and the feet are the most sensitive spots because there is hardly any flesh. Spots where you tend to have more flesh or fat will be alot less painful. I have 3 tatoos and the pain can be compared to being scratched really hard by someone with very sharp nails. The more relaxed you are the better and the more tense you are the worst! You have to be able to relax. My first time was the best time because I didn't know what to expect, but the ones after that was worst because I knew the type of pain I was in for. Just be easy...

I would imagine that getting your hands tattooed would hurt because there is not much meat on your hands. The bones and stuff are right there! If you're nervous, make an apt to go talk to your tattoo artist and ask him what it'll be like, what you can realistically expect... just make sure this is something you want to do, a tattoo is pretty permanent!

GOOD LUCK!

Think twice about putting a tattoo on your hands. Tattoos are still pretty taboo in the work place, especially if you can't cover them.

I have five of them: top of foot, bikini line, around my belly button, lower back and back of my neck. The belly hurt like a son of ***** and so did the one on the back of my neck. It depends on the artist too, whether or not they are heavy handed. Someone once told me it feels like getting snapped with a rubber band over and over. They lied it is more painful than that but, it's not awful either. It depends on your pain tolerance. Just think of what it feels like when you get a shot at the doctor or blood drawn. It's basically the same thing a needle going into your skin over and over.

I worked in the body modification field for a few years and have heard tattoos on your hands, face, and neck, referred to as "job stoppers". Be very mindful that what may seem like a good place to have a tattoo now, may end up being a mistake in your future. Good luck and keep gettin ink!

anywhere on or near the spine usually hurts, then I've heard ankle just because it's so bony, but I've heard that hands aren't that bad since we're used to doing so much with them I think we can tolerate more pain on them. Just be sure you are in a career that makes it ok for you to be tated up like that. I don't think it flys with corporate policy. And make sure whatever you are doing, you plan on doing for the next 40 years. Otherwise you're good.

i have 3 tattoos...one on shoulder, one on lower back, and one on foot. the most painful was on the foot. when they hit an area where there is bone or not much fat it hurts. it is hard to compare it to something really except exactly what it is needles stabbing into your skin. for most people the outline is the most painful part and the shading is really no big deal; also the color hurts less that the black ink.

I would think on the back of your hands where its bony and all the tendons and muscles, veins and nerves are all right there under the skin! Do you have any other tats? if they are on a fleshy, muscular area, like an upper arm or butt/hip tat then prolly times it by 8 on the back of your hands.

ive gotten two. one on my wrist and another on my lower back. it really does depend on how well you can take pain. but just think about it once you get thru with it you will never ever feel pain from it again. and its well worth it. and they can put numbing gel on it after they do the outline and once they put on the dumb gel it gonstly doesnt even hurt at all. but at first um it kinda feels like a fork is straching you. but it well worth it you kno and its all mental. you can get thru it go for it you only live once. hope i helped!

The worst spots for me were on my ankles and on my lower back. Anywhere close to the bone seems to hurt more for me.

the most painful place I would have to say is anywhere there is no meat.Such as your neck, ankle, and lower back.I would say the pain isn't that bad,but I had a 9lb.13oz. baby natural delivery so what's really worst than that?
