Mainly Hyperactivity Disorder. Very talkative, always "on the go", possible mood swings, etc... Is the relationship any different than your typical relationship? Looking for your personal experiences.

How much do you care about this person? I am ADD myself & had to realize it on my own at the age of 31 before treatment could help. A word from a friend or family member might have resulted in an earlier diagnosis, but no one else brought it up. If it's a long-term relationship in which you have invested a lot, then you probably should bring it to the person's attention. Maybe go over some of the symptoms to see if he/she recognizes any of them in him/herself. Caution: That person may become defensive! If this is a new relationship, think about how much stress you might have to endure if the person reacts negatively to your concerns. But also think about how much stress you will endure if you say nothing.

well I don't know for a fact that my b/f does but his mom mentioned it once and said he should be on medication.
and i have noticed that yes he does have a lot of mood swings and does not like to stay in the moment for long, and he can have a very short temper i mean very short! yes it is very different i have'nt been in a relationship like this before. he can be very happy and one LITTLE thing can change it to totally the opposit, or vica versa. I do think he has something but I still love him with all my heart and he's not crazy or anything like that, every morning he is ready to get up and go as soon as he wakes up I want to enjoy the morning and relax but he is on the go!

so my question is to you , is that the signs of add, because i'm not familiar with it?

not really you have to try to get on their level in a way the only down fall that i have noticed is the mood swings but every relationship has those so don't worry it can be really fun at times. just try to pay attn when they are talking and when the are ready to be "on the go" as you put it try to be reasonable ask them what it is they want to do and maybe find an alternative way to slow them down

I currently am. Yes it's quite different and it really tests my relationship skills. But the times that are normal and we're nice and calm make all the fighting and hardships worth while.

Been there, done that. Can be unsettling if the person doesn't stick to their meds with regularity. That was my experience. It ultimately destroyed the relationship.

However, that doesn't mean it has to be that way for you. Good luck!
