I'm getting an HDTV for Christmas...I would use my Xbox 360 on it and my Nintendo Wii, along with watching cable of course. I know I need component cables for the Wii, what about 360? Also, do I need some type of special coaxial cable for cable?

The cable that came with the 360 is as good as you can get right now. They might come out with an HDMI cable in the near future, but right now the component is best for the 360. Same for the Wii. If you want to watch Hi-Def cable, you have to order Hi-Def cable which will come with a special cable box. Then you can use component or HDMI/DVI to get a better picture. If you just wanna watch regular cable then most tv's still have the coaxial input of old. You shouldn't have to buy anything special.

If you couldn't tell already, the best looking cable is HDMI, and the second-best is component.

Hope this helps.

The premium xbox 360 will included the component cable so you're set there. As for coaxial cable you can use the normal coaxial cable. Just make sure you get type RG6 instead of RG59 because it's will give you a cleaner signal with less interference.

Some of those units have HDMI connections. That is the preferred way to hook up to your TV. Don't pay exhorbitant prices for either component or HDMI cables. Look for them here: http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp

You may want to add a surround-sound system; you would need at minimum aa A?V receiver and at least 5 speakers (6 speakers with a center channel).
