I am a biological mother to a daughter that was adopted. We met for the first time when she was 24 years old. We love each other very much, she understands that I made the decision to give her a better life, one that I could not provide at the time she was born. While our situation is not always the case, we are both very grateful for the lives that we have been able to have due to the decision that I had to make when she was born, and we are both very grateful now that we finally get to know each other and be each others best friend.

My biological parents were divorced when I was a baby. My Mom remarried and my StepDad adopted us and gave us his name (me & my sister). He was only 22 at the time so I have a lot of respect for my "Dad"...he's the only Dad I have ever known. I have no desire really to know my biological Father because he is a stranger to me...he never cared about us even to call on our Birthdays or anything. I am thankful to have the Dad I have. The only thing that concerns me about my "real" father is the health issues. I'd like to know his family's medical history now that I'm getting older.

I have never been adopted officially. I am not all that wild about my father because my parents got divorced when I 4 going on 5 and he is an abusive jerk who most likely is Bipolar and an alcoholic. The step-father I had who I would say emotionally adopted me as his step-daughter was the best father I have ever had (he passed away this summer.)
