I am suffering from illness/treatment type depression and find myself getting really angry very fast. I have been rude to strangers who are rude to me which is very out of character for me. Usually I wont stoop to their level and ignore it. I am wondering if going on a mild anti-depressant could help.

If you are having depression issues where you are impulsive, you should see your health care provider.

Some mild antidepressants may help you control your emotions and help with impulse control.
Very popular anti-depressant drugs are SSRI ( Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibtors) These drugs usually can be taken without regard to food intake. They have been found to be effective. Good Luck

Antidepressants might help but you really need to talk to your doctor about it, preferably a good psychiatrist. A doctor's the only one who can properly diagnose you and prescribe the medication you need. I was having problems like yours and finally went to the doctor. Things are going much better now.

Yes. Definitely talk to your doctor. There are medicines that can help. There are quick acting ones for anxieties, and long term ones to help regulate the chemicals in the brain.
