Everyday I get tired, especially in the afternoons and evenings. I have to get up at around 6, and I get about 8 hours of sleep on weekdays.

First off, if its a chronic problem, you might take the chance of calling your physician to make sure it's not something more serious like major fatigue or depression. You're getting enough sleep, some people (with little kiddos like me :) lol) get less.
What are you doing in the afternoons/evenings? Are you working?
Sometimes people get too relaxed or even bored in the evenings by sitting in front of the TV or computer which can both make your eyes very tired, especially if you work in front of one all day.
Try some juice not caffiene, a banana usually gives some energy, try getting up and walking around, or even taking a drive since it's nice and crisp outside.
Call someone you know and just chit chat, or cook yourself dinner that takes a little bit to make to get you into a project with an immediate end (so you feel like you accomplished something)
These are just some suggestions.
Like I said, you might call your physician to be sure this is not something more serious, and especially if something major has changed in your life lately, or if you are unhappy.
Good luck!

I used to have this problem too. I started excercising and cut out all my caffine, and cut out a lot of the sugar I was eating and drinking. It only took about a week for me to start feeling better. It was amazing! My doctor had suggested because I was having like panic attacks at night, and I couln't sleep. It really did help.

Maybe you should try resting in the afternoon for about 15 minutes. It should help you. Or, you could try taking iron supplements.

It would be a good idea to discuss this with your doctor so that they can see if you are anemic or need any vitamin supplements.

Excercise. Trust me...the endorphines are great energy boosters. Eat a banana, or other fruit in the early afternoon - sounds like you need a natural pick-me-up.

If you are aways tired after 8 hours then perhaps you should talk to your doc and get a bloodwork done. Perhaps you are anemic.

from dietary perspective, you may need a sugar rush around these times of afternoons and evenings....that will give you spurts of energy....try eating a fruit around those times.....

Also, splash some water on your face from time to time.....that will keep you hydrated and awake....drink lots of fluids.....

Best of all......exercise early mornings or during evenings and eat small portion meals 4 times a day.

Eat more red meat. The concentration of iron in the meat helps your body get more oxygen and you have more energy.
