I'm 14 and a high school freshman who lives off about 4-5 hours of sleep on school nights. I usually wake up around 5:30-6:30 am. I'd like to start waking up earlier though in order to do some stretching. How much earlier should I wake up? How long should I stretch and what kind of stretches are best when you only have a short amount of time? thanks

You really only need maybe 10-15 minutes of stretching. Standing up bend your right knee and grab your foot with your right hand, hold for a count of 10, do the same with your left foot (using left hand). Using a step, put your right leg straight out and put your right heel on the edge of the step, lean slightly forward at the waist, hold for 30 sec., repeat with left leg. Standing up straight clasp your hands together and hold them above your head slowly bending to the right then left, do 10 reps.

Wow, well if you are looking forward to toning and lenghtening your body, stretches are good, BUT enough sleep is good too! You should go to bed around 9:00 and wake up at 6:00. At teenagers of your age needs 8-10 hours of sleep, and stretch or do workouts for half hour then shower or whatever to get ready for High School. Best workouts videos or Stretches are found in www.Fitness.com or www.Prevention.com or www.winsorpilates.com those sites has samples of videos of workouts, yoga, stretches and mostly everything! You should try speed dancing, those stuff really shapes your body and stretches it BIG time and also gets rid of stubborn fats! I lost 10 pounds in one and half week just doing a healthy diet and dancing every morning or night. Look up Prevention for good stretches. Good Luck sweetie, ciao
