Nothing against the idea of God. Nothing at all.
It's just the morons that wave bibles in your face and threaten you with an eternity of SUFFERING that kinda turn you off to religion.

I think your question raises a very interesting point: many people fail to differentiate between organized religion and believing in God.
That cuts both ways, though. On one hand I'm saying that some see the harm and irrationality of some organized religions and, by their observation of this negativity, decide that they don't believe in God. On the other, some people believe that they are closer to God due to their involvement with some organized religion that is actually harmful or irrational.
Either way, I think these people have exercised flawed reasoning. The first have discounted God due to an unsound reason (the fallability and immorality of humans) and the second have debased God (in their minds) by defining him by this same fallability and immorality.
They're like two people: the first says Prada is a crappy designer label with poor quality control, based on the fact that he saw a fake Prada wallet that was all falling apart; the second buys the fake wallet and thinks he has the real thing.
But to answer your question, there are people who believe in God. You will know them by their love.

That's not all the bible says!!! What do we have for him Johnny?!?
Exodus 11:5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.
11:6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
11:7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel
Exodus 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name
Jeremiah 2:30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.

Christians believe in one. Christians believe in a really small one. One that cannot tolerate the idea of evolution. One that in the Middle Ages couldn't tolerate the idea that the Earth revolves around the Sun.
Christians believe in a God that has a huge ego problem, and in fact regretted ever having created the human race (which you can read in Genesis).
The God of the Old Testament became totally disgusted with the human race, and eventually put a curse on them; while the Christians say he gave his son to save humans. Something doesn't add up.

Yes, I believe in God. In fact, the majority of people on earth believe in God - whether you call Him God, Jehovah, Yahweh, Allah, Brahma, or what have you.
Even as a Christian, I don't support using Pascal's Wager as a way of converting people. It doesn't say which religion to follow. Also, most atheists (or non-Christians, for that matter) won't be wooed by your saying "the Bible says that he sent his son to save us" - they don't believe in the Christian Bible.

It's funny how people tend to believe on the wrong the world has to offer but when it comes to love, faith, truth and all the goodness God has to offer people immediately have negative comments to say. The bible states that "God is the truth the way and the light...then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
Accept Jesus as your savior and become part of the Godhead family!
God Bless to all:)

I believe in God, although I am by no means the ideal Christian. But sometimes we need to believe in something because it makes us better.

I don't believe in God. I see no reason to do so. The Bible is not an accurate source of information. The reason I have problems with religion is that it teaches people to accept answers with no evidence.
