This sounds like a bad joke. Just Kidding.
Mormons are not satisfied with Jesus finished work on the cross. GOD seems to be, but LDS have a few more things you got to do. Baptist fully believe in Jesus finished work but have some traditions. The Difference is that the Baptist doctrines though not Biblical do not subvert the plan of salvation. LDS does subvert the plan of salvation.

I'm not sure what the Baptists believe I will not spread lies about them nor make up stories.
The LDS on the other hand I do know, We believe Jesus is the Christ the very Son of God and the God of the Old Testament Jehovah. Yes we believe that the Bible is the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God also. In sunday school we rotate the scriptures every 4 years. One year we study the Old Testament and the Pearl of Great Price. Another year we study the New Testament. The Third year we study the Book of Mormon, and the fourth year we study the Doctrine and Covenants. We study all equally.
For the person who said that their information was second hand, get first hand information before you post, please.
Another thing Main Stream Christians get wrong, we don't get to rule over our own Planet, Do you limit God such. If we become like God, then our domain is greater then a planet, a solar system a Galaxy. We receive our own Universe, just like our Father in Heaven is the Ruler over this Universe.

There is only one fundamental difference: Mormons are restorationists and Baptists, like other protestants, are reformists.
Protestants believe that the original Christian church, Catholicism, went astray, so they started their own churches. Baptists are protestants and represent one flavor of these splinter churches. This split between Catholics and Protestants occurred even though they all believed in the same Bible. This is due to the fact that none of these Churches had a Adam, Moses, Peter, Paul or any other prophet that could authoritatively clarify doctrine or receive revelation. Catholics and protestants alike, still today have this problem of not having a prophet to authoritatively clarify doctrine. They rely on Bible interpretation for doctrinal clarity. Baptists, like most Christians, do not believe that God speaks to living prophets any more, even though God has had a pattern of speaking through prophets since the beginning of time. Therefore, most Christian sects are compelled to believe that God and his truth are changeable.
Like protestants, Mormons believe that the original church, or Catholicism, went astray and the authority and ability to receive revelation was lost. However, unlike protestants, Mormons do not believe that this could be remedied by a simple reformation. Although reformation could be considered a step in the right direction, Mormons believe that a complete restoration of that authority had to take place. Mormons believe that this restoration has taken place. Mormons believe that after the Constitutional guarantees of religious freedom were ratified, an acceptable environment was created for a complete restoration of Jesus Christ's true church. In 1820, this restoration began to take place in upstate New York through a man named Joseph Smith. Mormons believe that like Moses or Peter, Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet and proper authority was once again given to man so that revelation could be the true guide for Christ's church.
Mormons believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ which Joseph Smith translated by the power of God. The Book of Mormon is the evidence of this restoration. Mormons believe that anyone that reads the Book of Mormon and asks God about its truthfulness, will receive an answer from God that will verify this claim of a restoration. Mormons believe that everyone is entitled to receive answers to sincere prayers about truth and which Church to join.
Every claim of Mormonism rests on the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. If the Book of Mormon is truly divine, then Joseph Smith's prophetic calling was also divine. And if Joseph Smith was a prophet like Moses or Paul, then Christ's one and only true church is again on the earth. Authority that once was lost, is now restored.

From my experiences Baptists are very pushy. They put down anyone that does not believe the same as them. They treat other religions with very little respect. They are definitely not true Christians. They believe that you can confess to have been born again and then you can sin as much as you like and it is ok. Weird isn't it.
They confess to believe in the Bible but there are many parts that they ignore. I know most of my experiences have been bad experiences with the Baptists.
Actually they are both the same in some respects. They both have some really nice people and some really bad people.

The main differences have to do with salvation, the nature of God and what they recognize as Scripture.
Baptists hold to the Bible and that salvation is by faith through grace and not as a result of works. Baptism is an outward testimony of an inner work that has already taken place. God says in Isaiah that He knows no other Gods, and there is only one.
Mormons hold to a variety of scriptures in addition to the Bible. Some of them have been proven to be plagiarized (Book of Mormon) and haven't been translated correctly (Abraham, Moses). Mormons hold to the idea that it is possible to earn or better salvation by works. The aim of their salvation is to become God if you are a male.
The differences are much more stark if you want more information.

Mormons have an additional doctrine that they think is the Word of God also. Baptists believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and the Mormon Book isn't.
The Lord God of the Bible is a different Spirit than the Spirit behind the Mormon book.

Baptist believe in the Bible is the only book with the authority of God , Mormons say they believe in the Bible but only "so far as it is correctly translated" which leaves them allot of room to play with the words, they mostly believe in the book of Mormon. I went to a Mormon Church for awhile as a kid and they rarely read the Bible, I quit taking it to church long before I stopped going.
Mormons believe that one day they will be Gods of their own planet, and will have to spend eternity making spirit babies to populate it.
Baptist believe that we will one day get better bodies but we will always be followers of God and that their will never be more than one God.
To make it short if the Bible is important to you stay away from the Church of Latter Day Saints

Mormons believe in Joseph Smith's story about Jesus being the first to colonize the new world. Baptists do not.
That's the main difference. Rule-wise? Mormons wear special underwear.
