I would talk to your doctor, but sometimes leg cramps are caused by not drinking enough water or even a calcium deficiency.

Sometimes if your body is lacking potassium, it can cause leg cramps. Try eating bananas or drinking orange juice.

Lots of things can cause cramps in your legs. The one that comes to mind is the lack of magnesium and calcium in your diet. Calcium is needed to contract the muscle, and magnesium is needed to relax it. If your levels are imbalanced, then this can irritate and confuse your muscles.

when yur muscles are overworked, there is not enough oxygen in the muscles, where oxygen is important for the respiration process. so basically, what happens is that one of the proteins on the chain of a muscle strand (actin) is not able to be released by the other strand of muscle that it binds to (myosin). Because of that, the muscle strand stays contracted and gets this burning sensation. the leg muscles then have to go through anaerobic respiration (respiration without the use of oxygen) since without oxygen, there is a build-up of lactic acid. i hope this is not too detailed. basically there is not enough oxygen and so then there is a burning sensation from the lactic acid build-up. i hope this helped.
