Total of around 25 years (stopped once then started again) I have been smoke free now for about 6 years. Honestly the thing I noticed the most was being able to do more phyiscal stuff like walking or running without being short of breath. The thing I didn't notice until way late was how much money I could have saved up if I would have been putting the money I spent in smokes into a plain savings account. I think it would have been around 9 grand by now (averaging a pack a day for six years at $4 a pack) I wish I had started that when I quit. Oh well. Good luck.

I smoked for 14 years and it has been 17 years since I have smoked anything and I can say for sure I am much more in better health and My blood pressure is good and my food taste better and my breath doesn't smell like a ash tray and my teeth are white and I have more money then when I smoke and I don't have to worry about my son breathing in second hand smoke . There are so many more things what is good about not smoking then there are that people that still do. Just maybe I might still live a longer life but if not then I will be a happy guy anyway.

I quit smoking. I have been smoke free for three years now. I had smoked for 6 years. The bad difference is that I gained some weight. The good differences are that I can run up stairs without wheezing and coughing, I don't get as many colds as I did when smoking, I smell better, plus my senses of smell and taste are better.

I smoked on and off from the age of 18 to 27. I quit because I wanted to train to run a marathon. It helped me immensly to quit smoking. Your lung capacity is very bad when you smoke. Within two weeks of quitting smoking i was able to breathe better on my runs. Besides the fact that smoking makes your clothes and breath smell bad. Oh and by the way I have now completed two marathons and half a dozen other races over 10 miles...all do to not smoking.

I quit smoking ten years ago. I'd smoked for about 20 years when I quit. The difference in my life is that I can breathe, have great endurance for exercising, and everything I own no longer smells like stale cigarette smoke!

I smoked in my teens, took my last puff three months before my 20th birthday, and have been free from the habit for 26 years. I don't miss it, and have great blood pressure, along with very healthy lungs.
