I don't understand why God would send other people of other religions to hell when it is technically not there fault they are of that religion in the first place. Let's take a Hindu person for example. They were born into that religion and have had no other chance to switch to Christianity or another religion for that matter. How is it remotely logical for Christians to say that they are going to hell because they do not believe in the Christian God. They have been raised and influenced to believe their religion is right and there truly is no reason for them to believe another religion is right. Why should they decide to switch when they believe deep down, just like Christians do, that their relgion is right. I am a Christian but I fail to understand why God should send them to hell when it is not their fault. I do not believe that God does this because I think that He obviously sees this.

The bible tells us that the word of God will be preached in all the earth. Everyone will have the chance to know the word of God and many will reject it. Look at how many different religions there are in just Christianity alone. Not all of these can be right either. The bible also says that there is one truth, one faith and one baptism. So which religion is right. Every religion thinks they have the truth. I guess we need to take a look and see which religion is doing the will of God and which one applies bible principals. Which one follows God's laws.

God will deal with each person on the earth who lives or has ever lived, in a personal way. Regardless of what they have been taught. Anyone seeking to know the truth, will find it. When you consider hell, remember this, God is flawless without sin. It isn't out of a cruel or even arrogant heart that God destroys the sinner, it is a matter of sin not being able to hold up in the presence of GOd. If one has sin and has willfully chosen sin, when they stand before God to be judged, as everyone will, the one with sin will be destroyed. The purity of God will purify the very space the person is occupying. That will be an all consuming fire. Then, that person will be no more. It will be as if they were never here. God does not say that a person who is in sin will "burn forever in a place called hell." Which proves once again, man has confused the words of God and tries to make him out to be a cruel ruthless ruler, instead of a tender loving God.

If you read "The Inferno," you'll find that the outer circle of Hell is where the good people who either don't find out about Christianity, or were born before the crucifixion go to.

But that's not biblical.

The real problem is eternal damnation. Can a finite person, in the process of living a finite life do anything to deserve infinite punishment? Conservative Christians think so, but I've never been convinced.

And if damnation can happen, then why would God allow any more children to be conceived? A soul doesn't exist, then God lets it come into being just so he/she will have a chance at eternal happiness and a more likely chance of damnation.

I don't think that is right. In islam your intention is what defines good deeds to be real. And they balance you out to go into heaven or hell. Saying that now is playing god and shouldn't be done. There is a hadith(statement by the prophet) that told of a man who had killed 99 times, and when he decided to go good. He went up to a muslim who asked if he could get into heaven, the muslim said no. He killed him. He asked another guy, this one saw what happened to the first so he said, go to the next town. They can help you there. So he traveled to the town and died on the way. Two angels came, one of forgiveness and one of sin. They went to god to ask where he should go, god told to measure the distance from the towns to him, if he is closer to the town he was going to, he will enter paradise. An earth quake happened that made the difference of a hand, the man was closer to the second town. Because of his intentions and his repentance(not verbally but obliviously he was trying to repent.) and gods mercy he will enter heaven.

The world is much more connected than it ever has been. Christianity is spreading. The Word of God is reaching people through ministries and evangelicals. There are many underground Christian movements, even in Iran. God's Church is growing. There are going to be many signs, many chances for people to accept The Truth. Unfortunately, some still will not. Then we will all have to face Judgment Day.

I don't believe that other religions don't go to heaven. Christ said that He is the path to heaven and we must follow Him. But there are alot of good people out there who haven't found Christ, yet they live "Christ like lives". I think that we will be judged not by where we prayed, a church or a temple, but how we treated our fellow man. . Perhaps religions should leave the judgment of others to the Lord. God bless.

As long as you maintain this attitude, you yourself are useless for the Kingdom of God and are part of the problem instead of part of the solution. Jesus said "He who is not with Me is against Me and he who does not gather with Me scatters" (Matthew 12:30)
Jesus said "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation". (Mark 16:15)
I thank God that many thousands risk their lives every day because they are obeying this command. Yahoo recently carried a story of 3 pastors in China who were executed, being falsely accused of being involved with a murder plot, but reliable sources disclose the real reason they were killed is because they were zealous proclaimers of the Gospel. One day people from "every tribe and people and nation and tongue" shall worship the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ and His Father before His throne in heaven.
The question is - will you be there?
Repent and believe the Gospel.

I have often thought of this and my dissatisfaction with the idea that you are damned just for not believing in the same God I do. Who’s to say that they’re religion is not just as valid as Christianity? I believe that your beliefs are what guide your afterlife. If you believe in reincarnation, then you will be reincarnated. Same with Heaven and Hell. I think that it is the person’s belief that gives power to a god.

The problem isn't that they are another religion, its that they are still in their sins. The Bible tells us that every person will have the opportunity to accept or reject Jesus. Usually people here about Jesus from other people, but God can certainly get that information to them in another way.
You see, God is Holy. He is also Just. Sin must be punished. In His love he provided a way for that punishment to fall on Himself. God doesn't owe Heaven to anyone, and nobody deserves it.
