I'll be travelling with my husband to Maui this Christmas. We'll have 3 free days. Any specific places that you can recommend (hiking, museum, garden, beaches, plantation tour, general tour, etc.). Thanks in advance.

lucky you...Maui is my favorite place...go to Kamaole 3 beach in Kehei....it is so beautiful there......also go to Hookipa Beach on the Hana Hwy...you will see windsurfers and surfers...its very accessible...and the other very cool place is in upcountry where you can go find the Kula Hospital or Sanitorium...the building is so old...like from the early 1900's...it looks like a movie setting for a psych ward...it is just like taking a step back in time...then head off to the winery on the ulupalakua ranch (down the same road) and taste there wines...they are made of pineapple...all these things are free!
Have fun

up to the top of Haleakala, Hana, get a burger at Tutu's there, try to see the west end too it's gorgeous, Mama's fish shack, spend some time in the Town of Paia & check out Ho,okipa beach just up the road, Kihei is a nice town too, Lahaina has a lot to offer, you need 2 weeks, if you go to Hana have someone take you to Charles Lindbergs grave, it has a breathtaking view. I envy you, Maui is fabulous

take the Blue Hawaiian helicopter trip up to the Haleakala crater.... beautiful scenery.... including the water falls.

We rode a van back down the "Road to Hana"... fabulous scenery

Friends told us the sunset tour at Haleakala is breathtaking.

The shopping at La Haina is great..... watching the windsurfers at Hilo was super kool.....

Also on our last night we celebrated our wedding anniversary on a shoreline dinner cruise.

I'm envious.... would love to revisit Maui one day.

Hope you have a great time.

Be Blessed!

drive to Hana, on the way there, there are lots of waterfalls, botanical gardens, a black sand beach, a cavern tour, etc. I also suggest going to Haleakela, or the Iao Valley.
