Cut your own hair? Probably not a good idea.
Why not a good idea? Well because you're probably not trained to do so.
If you decide to go thru with it keep these tips in mind--if cutting hair when wet remember it shrinks a bit (I cut my own bangs when i was younger and figured this out the hard way)...
umm go for a more choppy style because you probably won't have much luck getting it even.
But in reality i think you should leave it to a pro. It may cost more but ultimately think of the cost to your looks while it's growing out or the cost you'll incur when you need to go to a hairdresser to fix it (and they'll probably have to cut it shorter than you want).
If you mean cut your hair in general then i say go for it... if your hair is really long don't do anything too drastic cuz you might regret it. regular trims are healthy, though... and hair always grows back.

Well if you dont like your hair, yes. You can have it up to your shoulders at least. It'll give you a nice look.
Story: When I was young I had hair down to my belly button! My mom and dad thought it was time for a change in my life. They had to carry me to the hair salon when I was 13. When she started cutting I started crying into tears and 1 week later I was happy and I didnt change a bit only my hair. After that it was to my shoulders and I just curled it out every other day. It worked out for me!

To tell whther or not to cut you have to consider three things:
1. Is it longer than 2 feet?
2. Have you been teased in any way about how long it is?
3. Is it irritating you in any other way?

No. I had really long and beautiful hair, almost down to my butt. I cut it because I thought I wanted something different but it was who I was and now I am patiently waiting to feel like me again. It takes forever to grow back so if you love it don't lose it.

I agree to layer and cut shorter little by little. You could do short layers in the front and keep your length in the back. I think layers with highlights would be very nice. Good luck and have fun with your new do.

If you are doubting it at all, don't do it. I have done this several times in the past and have hated my hair every time. Know exactly what you want before deciding either way.

Don't cut the length you'll regret it (trust me). Just layer it, then you can go shorter and shorter later if you'd like.

Don't know, but keep in mind that the average growth rate is one-half an inch per month.
