Why does my nose always bleed, especially when I sleep?

i used to get night-time nosebleeds frequently. first doctor i went to said it was from the dry desert air. eventually, a doctor found that an artery had surfaced inside my nose and was susceptible to abrasion and rupture, especially when i rolled over and pressured my nose on a pillow. he cauterized it (not really fun, but effective) and i have not had trouble since.

You may want to see an ear, nose and throat specialist. I got really bad nosebleeds for years (though not so much in my sleep) until I was told I had a crooked septum (the cartilage that separates your nostrils). In other words, there's like a bump of cartilage that sticks out inside my nose (don't worry, you can't see it without a close inspection!) and, as I breathe, gets dry and raw and eventually bleeds. It may sound gross, but putting moisturiser on the area a few times a day has really helped - probably more so than just having my septum cauterized. But again, see a doctor as the cause of your nosebleeds might be entirely different.

I would ask your doctor.

However, when I as younger I had the same problem. My doctor told me that I had a vein near the surface of the septum (the bit that divides the nose into the two nostrils).

I had the vein burnt away with a laser to stop the problem. See the following link for more info about nosebleeds.

Did you get some injury on your nose before?
My brother had similar problem before. But he is OK these years.

If you didn't get any injury on your nose. Try to avoid spicy food, such as chili, pepper, onion, ...etc. Maybe also drink more green tea instead of orange juice.

Your are breaking the tiny blood vessels when you squash your nose. Your blood is thin. Without eating too much fat in your diet to thicken it,look for foods that may help. Get your blood pressure checked also. You could have cauterized surgery if it gets worse.

Is the air in your house dry? You may need a humidifier. Are you doing "nose candy". ie. sniffing any drugs? They effect your nasal passages.Have your blood pressure checked. It may be too high.
