If its for Christmas you should give him a little test if you feel like it. Don't get him anything except for a big hug and a kiss. If he loves you that should be enough to make him happy. You asked for an idea :]

A good personalized gift..is a nice..portrait of yourself. Something..maybe a little sexy...nothing sleazy... but something nice. I know alot of guys would like this. I am doing a portrait like that..for a friend of mine...for her bf's birthday. good luck.
