These guys can fight, there is no doubt about that. Those that say these guys can't fight are not watching the same thing as us.
These fighters would do fine in the street. Just because they are honorable enough to not rip their opponents eyes out doesn't mean they don't know how to.

I dunno man, I guess they think that since they see how a fighter conducts himself in a MATCH, WITH RULES AGAINST SUCH TACTICS (sorry, just trying to emphasize a point there), is exactly how he'll react in an actual fight against someone on the street.
which I agree with you, it's total BS for them to think that way.
because in a fight on the street, you do what you have to do to end the fight quickly, and if it means usin' dirty tactics, then SO BE IT.
I can tell you that I'm not above fightin' dirty.

i agree its a tool traditionalists use to try to retain interest in traditional martial arts employing the self defense/street scenario going on about how mma comp training doesnt play to a life or death situation or whatever as well as weapons. if your a cop you should know what to train if your a bouncer you should know what to train if your a repo man you should know what to train. they pidgeon hole mma guys when in reality many of those guys have a background in trad martial arts. mma out side of fighting competiton is just that like bruce lee philosophy learn what they want to use reject what wont. PEOPLE evolve while trad martial arts stay stagnant.learn what works not gymnastics or flowery knife defense what will get your liver shanked. overall folks should respect what every single martial art has to offer and not be scared of other styles or mma cuz like bruce said and im para phrasing-men only has two arms two legs- and as c coffin said john colt made every man equal.

ive fought in the cage, amateur of course, many times, and have been in several street fights. Most of the time in the street, i've cheated, meaning i did aim for the nuts and pull hair, its a different environment on the street.

I for one would not like to test that theory. Those guys, like boxers and wrestlers, train to do what they are doing. They are in shape and know how to hurt someone. You don't get far in that line of work without being tough and mean; and you have to think and react in tenths/hundredths of seconds. So believe what you want to but be prepared to tote your behind home after words.

It's not a question of knowing how, it's a question of being cognizant of it & being ready & able to defend against it.

Are you retarded? No one ever said that, they just said fighting in a cage with rules is different then fighting for your life with no rules.
