The Accord, as long as it has had the timing belt and the water pump changed. This is supposed to be done at 90k, and the fact that this car is being sold so close to that time leads me to believe it has not been done. This is a required service, and is probably in the $500-$700 range. If it is not done, and belt breaks, you may destroy the motor.
The Accord is a higher end vehicle, the Corolla competes more with the Honda Civic. The Accord is roomier, more refinded, has more room and more power. The Corolla will get better MPG. Both are very reliable, and hold their values equally well.

Well you must consider this:
They are both reliable cars, but the Accord is a larger sedan compared to the corolla. (The Accord can be compared to the Toyota camry, and the Honda civic is comparable to the Corolla).
Any how, if the Accord is a V6, then you should definetely get it. If it is not, it will still be pushing more horsepower than the corolla (not 100% sure, but should be true).
Accord will give u a sportier ride and will be more fashinable.
I would go for the Accord even if it is a year older.
Corolla is a nice car, but a year doesnt make a big difference, and if u get extra space and the style points, the extra $200 is worth it.
Good Luck!

My Opinion is the corolla. I own one. Has 75000 miles and no problems. The Accords are great cars also. Just remember that both have timing belts and need to be changed if over 50000

Depends on condition of the cars -- but all things being equal go for the accord. Check if the timing belts have been changed and if not make sure you take care of that. Once you do that, you should be fine for at least 50000 miles or maybe more

Corolla, I am an avid Corolla owner due to there gas mileage and my history with them. My first Toyota Corolla was totalled on a Rugby trip that I took with two of my team mates. We were on our way home after a night of partying because we had won the Turnament. Well my contacts were acting up so I had a choice of ether a guy who was still hung over drive or a guy who had had nothing to drink that night to drive. Duh, I let the guy who had had nothing to drink drive. Bad decition, he had failed to tell me that his depth perception at night was way out of wack. He fliped us three times over the median and hit the guard rail on the opposite side of oncoming traffic. In other words he fliped over the 5 meter wide median crossed the two lane road of oncoming traffic and hit the guard rail. The only enjuries was two severed tendons on my right hand (not life threatening), and a minor concution on the hung over guy. The driver never got a scratch on him. My second Corolla was bought used with 92K for $2,000, and has lasted me 4years of driving back and forth between Hattiesburg, MS, and Dallas, TX visiting Family every Holiday.

Don;t know much about corollas, but accords are great. I know people with accords with 245k miles that still drive them and they work great. I've heard similar things about corollas but I don't know anyone personally who has had one. I have an 01 accord
