Religion has always played a role in politics through out history. Many in power have oftern used both to push the way in to and around in government. This will never change. The same is true right down to your locally level doesn't matter where you are.

Religion is a game played by man to equal himself to God. He uses it to allow in those that he wants and keep out those that he doesn't want. Religion is very different from true faith. Faith is not man tring to fit God in to a man size box, but man giving honor to God by being real to the claims of faith that he makes.

A true person of faith is humble and not in the lime light. True faith is in the doing not in the talking. The realness is measure by the actions and deeds.

I do not know exactly why you are referring to 312 A.D., but I must tell you that I do not believe that religion, or Christianity, plays a very big part in politics today at all. Even though I believe that Christianity should be the number one leading factor in the life of every individual, I am afraid that for the most part, our government has failed tremendously in allowing Jesus Christ to be the leader in our nation. We have allowed Him to be for the most part completely pushed out of our schools. We will not allow our children to pray to Him in our schools, we will not allow them to read his Holy Word in our schools, we have allowed the Ten Commandments to be taken from the walls of many of our government buildings, and tried to push God completely out of our governmental affairs. And then we have the nerve to ask why our nation is in the condition that it is in. Our government is never going to accomplish much of anything, until we allow God to be the Leader in our nation once again. We have the nerve to print on our monetary system, "In God We Trust," and then allow all kinds of sin to be legal in our nation. May God have mercy upon us.
