Always an old standby for me, and used in a lot of the classes I work with at the food bank is using lentils. I've had good success with cooking regular hamburger and mixing the lentils into the meat. With great chili seasoning, some chunky stewed tomatoes, green peppers and mushrooms, beans (etc) the lentils blend right in, take on the same colour and texture as the meat and can double or triple the volume of the orginal meat. To make things simpler for you, I would look at the amount of hamburger you have, then take about 1/3 -1/2 that amount of dry lentils. Let them boil in a separate saucepan until tender - about 10-12 minutes, then drain them and stir into the hamburger. Then proceed as you would normally do for chili.
Lentils are a super food: no fat, high fiber, good flavour, and inexpensive. The red ones cook in about 10 minutes so these are the easiest to use. The green or brown take 20-30 minutes, and are just as tasty, but do not blend as well into some foods. They are great on their own too.

Here we go with Spaghetti. Do you know who doesn't like spaghetti? You could make two varieties. One with chicken and one with hamburger meat. Use white sauce for chicken one and red sauce for hamburger meat one.
Make a huge salad using every ingredient you like. Spaghetti and salad go well together.
Don't forget the garlic bread.
Have a great party.

Make a huge pot of spaghetti!
Have a pot-luck party. Everybody bring a dish!

I WOULD HAVE MAYBE: PIZZA ROLLS---- AS APPETIZERS, and SPAGETTI W/MEATBALLS and a BIG SALAD, and ITALIAN BREAD. OR , MAKE THINGS MORE FUN HAVING YOUR GUESTS BRING SOMETHING THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO ADD FOR THE PARTY, (that would let them feel apart of making the party special--- make them feel at more at home). ENJOY!!!!!!!!
