My family hates me because I'm Jewish :(?

Why, why do they do this to me , what can I do?? My father cursed at me and called me the devil when i refused to participate in putting up the christmas tree and lights, he cursed and cursed and then my sister came in and said "****** jew" i told my dad, "did you just hear her" and he said nothing, then my sister said "dad he's trying to convert me" and my dad wanted to hit me , my mom found out and called me the devil and said she isn'tmy mother , whhy do they hate me so much just for wanting to become Jewish and for celebrating Hanukkah, חנוכה,

god save me from this, my mother is really mad at me and keeps calling me the devil for not being catholic like them, and yes i'm mexican which are the type of people that are really catholic, so my question is, how can i live on with the light of day if even in my home i'm not accepted for being a Jew?

My mother also forces me to go to a catholic church and does not want to take me to a Synagogue

HOW AM I MAKING THIS UP, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS SUCH A-S-S WHOLES, BURN IN YOUR CATHOLIC HELL!

holly molly....it sounds like you r really stuck in a boom-kaboom situation mate....i m really sorry, but your family are fanatics, and fanatics normally do this....

There is nothing you can do, you just have to wait to move out and carry-on wth your life....fanatics are devoted into their religions and they would like people to convert to their religion...trust me mate, you will face acouple of priests who will advice you not to convert...but if u really want to be jewish, thts your decision, bcs a true religion comes from the heart.....

Sometimes parents Can be a Pain. Try to make them happy and participate in some of their holiday stuff. It won't hurt nothing and will keep the Peace down between you all.

in the mean time the best thing you can do is Pray for them

That's really something that your family needs to work on, not you. They are in the wrong for hating you for it, which is just the sort of disregard for the whole "judge not, lest ye be judged" mentality that I've come to expect from most religious zealots. Best thing you can do is just lie low and believe what you want to believe. Don't give in to them, and don't lie about it, but also keep it private as it could escalate into actual violence. My best advice would be to move out of your house as soon as possible, and hope that your family realizes that they should love you no matter which religion you choose. Good luck.

Sorry your family is so closed minded. I am not Jewish I am Lutheran, my cousin was Lutheran moved to Israli married a man of course of Jewish faith. What mattered in our family was her happiness. Is a person less based on color religion? With your parents being of mexican decent and surely having had some experience with being looked down upon by jerks in this world clearly they should be first to know not to judge or discriminate! I am sorry you are going through this. I would demand respect of which they are not giving you.

That's sooooo not right you have the right to be ANY religion you want to be in.Tell them you don't like the harrassment!If it keeps getting worse then I would take to a perfessional out of the home to step in.Maybe you can with help educate them of why you decided to be jewish.

If you are only 13 years old you have a whole life ahead of you.
Many changes. Wait until you are older and on your own to convert to jewish faith. I am not sure any rabbi would convert you at your age?!?!

you have to have jewish blood to be jewish. the only other thing i can suggest is try the seventh day adventist church. very much like new covenant jews. don't have to be born jewish to celebrate the sabbath and refrain from unclean foods. plus you learn a ton about prophecy and the ppl are wonderful!

Why you want to be Jewish? Your family is more important, I know we all have the power to choose our own religion, but what's the good thing we can get if lose our family? I hope you can think again before it's too late.

I don't think they hate you though I do think you scare them a little. They only know their religion and since you don't share it or believe in it, it scares them. Maybe you could get your rabbi to get you some reading material that explains your faith and give it to your parents. I'm not sure either of them are willing to read it but maybe if you just leave it somewhere that one of them would find it .. without pushing it in their faces... maybe they'd read it and get more of an understanding of why you chose to leave their faith and join another.

get real you have to be born a Jew to be Jewish. You may worship as a Jew but you have to be accepted to be converted but still your family linage must be Jewish. But from your question you don't know what you are talking about!
