We have had this cat awhile. Somebody declawed it front and back, then kicked him to the curb.

My Dad has him living indoor/outdoor, cause he just really believes in all cats living this way.

The cat seems healthy. Up to date on shots, and just now due for a vet appointment. I do suspect ear mites sometimes, but we can wait and see till we finally get a stool, no indoor litter box!

Just saw on Yahoo answers that a cat with that no claw problem can get back problems. It does look like he has them, he is a little up and down looking sometimes, like a horse.

I would like to help with his back and the health of his paw pads outside. Any ideas. I know they get cold sometimes.

Ok, I can see the general consensus here, is don't let him out. But you'll never believe this, he has already been an indoor/outdoor for years. I guess he doesn't know he doesn't have claws, or something. Mostly all the dogs here are on leashes.

Just this morning he was rolling around on the stoop like crazy, sunbathing in the 22 degree weather and pleading with me to join him.

I just want to make his paws more comfy. I gotta say they are nice and pink, though. He really likes to clean them. Still, Thank you, so far.

A cat with no claws should not be outside!!! He has no way to defend himself!!!!

If your Dad won't let this cat live in the house, then it needs to be surrendered to a shelter. You would be surprised how quickly he would get a home. This cat cannot and should not be outside. He is prey for everything and anything that comes along, with no means of defense. It costs a whole bunch of money to have a cat declawed, and there are a lot of fussy people out there who like their furniture more than their cats. That cat would be adopted out in a New York minute.

They defend from preditors with thier back claws. Get the cat inside as it may not be able even to scale a tree
