You girls go though the pain and bloating. Everyone else has to deal with the moaning and complaining that go with it. Not being rude, but its the truth.
The only reason its a bother is because the hormones cause you to stop being the person you normally are and have mood swings and irrational thoughts a lot of the time during that time.
You say you need to be comforted. When we do, we are called inconsiderate because we arent leaving you alone and giving you space. We leave you alone and we are told we are neglecting you. Then you cry, stomp your feet and make up a few hours later only to start the whole thing over again the next day or even later on in the same day.
Its not that we dont understand, its that we cant deal with the changes in personality since we arent the ones that go through it every month.
But.....If young guys think that the periods are fun, wait until they are married and the wife is going through menopause!!!
OH WHAT FUN THEY WILL HAVE THEN...TRUST ME!!!!

I'm a guy and I don't fear it, but that's probably because I have three older sisters and almost all my friends are girls. I'd guess that most guys do for the same reason most everyone else has said: they don't understand it and they don't like the changes it causes in a girl's mood. Another thing to mention though is that it isn't just girls that have to deal with that kind of thing. Although guys don't have a period, there are still times when hormones are released and a guy can have mood swings and stuff. We don't have to deal with the physical part(fortunately) but that doesn't mean we're exempt from the emotional part.

Because it's something we don't quite understand, and it's only natural to fear what you don't understand.
