I know this guy and I like him and he likes me but he won't go out with me. He told his friend that it was because I was taller than him by like 1or 2 inches does that really matter to guys?

To some guys it matters. But if he truly likes you, then it shouldn't matter. My old boyfriend was 3 inches shorter than me and we went out for almost exactly a year (we were 13). It might be pretty uncomfortable for him to think he's shorter than you, it might be a blow to his ego. He might be worried about what people would say if he went out with a girl who was taller than him. He probably thinks people will tease him for it. He might also be worried that you wouldn't go out with him because of your height compared to yours.
Just talk to him and ask him why he doesn't want to go out with you. You guys might be able to work it out and get together. good luck! and remember, it doesn't matter about look, it's what's inside that counts.

1 or 2 inches shudnt matter....
this is bein answered by a bloke whos pretty small himself. A few inches shudnt matter bt it is all down to dignity of the guy. He'd much rather go out with som1 smaller as it does look odd when u get a couple with the woman taller than the man

Not that I have room to speak...being 6'2" and all, but I will tell you this:
Two of my married friends have what I think is the strongest relationship I've ever seen...He's 5'6" and she's 6'3". I've noticed they have a thing for stairs. He stands a step or two above her and kisses her...The look on his face at that moment is priceless. I'm sure he feels like a million bucks.
An inch or two height differential shouldn't mean a thing. No worries.

Depends on the guy.
Tom Cruise didn't care that Katie Holmes is taller than him and nobody ever said anything.
Michael J. Fox is shorter than his wife.

It does to some people. I wouldn't want to date a guy much shorter than I am. I also don't like guys with mustaches. It's just another preference.

Yeah, gusy care, they always need to feel like there stronger taller etc etc, its there stupid ego thing. there intimidated by tall woaman.

no, if i girl is b-ful as u sound it doesnt matter, this guy just got small man syndrome, so he doesnt like anything taller then him

He shouldn't be, if he isn't insecure about himself. I would suggest you forget him and move on.
