Are you trying to make money or just get rid of things w/o having to drive them somewhere? If the latter, then price it low. If you'll never use the stuff, anything you get will be better than nothing - it's sunk cost. For more valuable items, try selling them individually online first. You can also use ebay and craigslist as a reference for pricing. If you sell them at your garage sale, leave the prices off and let potential buyers haggle - that way you won't inadvertently underprice items.

Most things in garage sales are priced cheap because people want to get rid of them. If you have nice things and want to make more money and won't be bothered much if they don't sell, price them higher. You can always have another sale later and sell them cheaper if you want.

First of all have you been to any yard sales in your neighborhood to see how other people are priceing their stuff. Where I live childrens clothes go good and at a good price. If you have any dishes check the bottoms to see who they are made by that is what collectors look for 1st of all. Also any figuerines that have a name on the bottom shouldn't go cheap either. Good Luck.

It depends on if you really want to get rid of what you're selling. If you put high prices on things; you're less likely to sell them. If you put a low or modest price; you're more likely to get rid of what you're putting up for the sale. I've seen a lot of people put the same things on garage sales for years with high prices and they pack up that same stuff every year and try it again the next year. If they really want to sell it, they'll put a low price on it. Thats just my opinion.

People who frequent garage sales are looking for bargains and will not pay more than a buck or two for most items. If you have items you think are worth more than you could get at your sale, put those items aside and list them on ebay or craigslist.
Good luck!

you have to think of how long you have had your things you want to sell, and how much you bought them for..say you have a nice 10 speed bike you bought for 300..you would maybe sell it for 10% of what you bought it for..may sound cheap, but if you want your stuff to sell, you have to go a little lower..or that could be high considering how long youve had it.. just remember that one mans junk is another mans treasure..so if they truely want what you have, they will pay the price for it..good luck..

figure how much you paid versus how much use you got out of it and wear and tear. nothing more aggravating than going to a yard sale that people are trying to get rich from a bunch of stuff they are tired of having around if it is worth that much to you than maybe you should reconsider selling it....
