First of all you want to pilot a plane right? Then there are at least two universities you can choose from if you have the right stuff. Remember there is the US air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. Yes you need a Congressional recommendation as you do at any US military academy, but if your bright then that's no problem but you don't need a perfect 4.0 but you need outstanding character. The second option is the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD. Same requirements but you won't be flying cargo jets only fighters and real pilots land on decks. So don't be discouraged we need pilots to fly those fighters on the land and on the sea.

Oh, so each time an enemy shoots down a military pilot, this means that he is shooting down a bright young man? Now that would be a fine set of antlers for the Iraqis, now wouldn't it? Remember, in the air force, the grunt work is at least done by the Commissioned Officers, whereas the Enlisted men don't have to do any of the actual fighting in the Air Force. If you ever get drafted, choose air force since you wont have to shoot.

That depends on what you are looking for. Many major universities have ROTC programs that can lead you toward a commission, but there are other options. What is it you want to do in the Air Force?

There are NO air force universities!!! There is, however,
United States Air Force Academy, and that is strictly
military and you have to be recommended by a
Congressman, Have to have a 4.0 grade average, your
teachers have to verify your character.

no such thing. There is the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and then there are colleges and universities which have AFROTC units embedded.

If you are past your junior year in HS, it is too late to apply to the AFA. so pick the collge based on the degree you want to get and join their ROTC program.
