i have a rat terrier age 8 and she is hilarious at times but other times a devil

I have had 2 rat terriers. I find that if you do not exersice them (an hour walk, letting them hunt, or other exercises) they can be VERY hyper, not obay, dont care, hard headed.
Mine were both very well trained, exercised regularly, and I had complete control over their food, such as they cant eat it unless I say so with the wait okay command, they were angels.
But when I worked for a few days at a time and didnt have time to allow them to get their built up energy out they became very wild and would find other way to get the energy out
Exersice is the KEY!!!!
Do not hit her, or yell at her, you need to stay in a calm state of mind! If you become angry and start yelling, a dog recognizes that as a weak state of mind and will continue not to listen. it could be becuz you spoil her too much...
she knows she has control over you.
if sshe acts like a brat remember to discipline her
then she knowss who is in charge
