..the mark of a great warrior, is knowing when not to fight...?

I'm looking for the source of this saying, or at least the corret wording... any help out there?

Not sure who said it quite like that, but Sun Tzu in The Art of War said:

Thus we may know that there are five essentials for victory:
(1) He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.
