every dog is a good dog as long as you love and train them.huskys are great dogs for people who live in colder region for example canada.you wouldn't want to get a husky if you live somewhere like Florida where it summer all year long(their sensitive to heat).they are also quite big and shed a lot.plus they are extremely active dogs.i mean they bred to pull sleds in the first place so they have stamina and energy.plus huskies and other northern breeds are well known for ecsapeing .so make sure you have a sucure fence and a large yard!!So if you're fine with all the above and have plenty of love ....get a Siberian husky!!!

Siberian Huskies are wonderful, beautiful, loving, very smart, lively and friendly dogs, however they have some special requirements that you should consider before getting one.
They have A LOT of hair. They need to be brushed regularly, and will shed ENORMOUS amounts of hair in spring and go through a lighter shed in the fall. During this time they will need lots of brushing and even with that, you're going to have loads of hair in the house.
They love to run/roam and are escape artists. You will need a large fenced yard. They can climb almost as well as they can dig, so containment can be an issue.
They are extremely active dogs who require large amounts of physical activity - which they very much prefer to get outside thier normal yard on regular walks or runs. Keep them on a leash! At dog shows, when the Siberians do off leash, everyone holds thier breath!
Do not expect these dogs to ever be guard dogs. They'd just as soon invite thier new friend in and show them where the valuables are.
They have a keener sense of the dominance hierarchy than some other dogs so if you will have more than one dog, read up on this, it's important.
All of that being said, they are sweet and good natured and generally happy and loving. They have a wonderful sense of humor (often at your expense) and are usually very good with children and other dogs (bred to live with families and traded into other families and packs).
I've had Siberians and Siberian mixes for years and really love them - and - they are really a handful. I've known people who absolutely love them and wouldn't want a different breed, and others who have not been able to handle the special needs and had to remove the dogs from their households. That's actually how I've gotten all of mine.
Do a bunch of reading, and think about the commitment that you are making. They're worth it, but know what you are getting into.

I own a Siberian Husky and they are wonderful dogs, if they fit your lifestyle and you do your research.
These dogs were bred to run tirelessy for miles on end. Are you ready to live up to the excercise needs for this breed. A simple walk will not do, these dogs need to RUN. Do you have a dog park around you? I bring my Husky there for about 3-4 hours (and he's 10 years old and still has energy for that!) at a time. If not, are you willing to jog.. or mush.. or maybe bike mush (have your dog run alongside or better yet in front pulling your bike). If a Siberian Husky does not get the energy he or she craves, they will become destructive to release that boredom.
These breeds are also notorious escape artists, the houdini's of the dog world! Huskies are capable of leaping 8 foot fences, fitting in the smallest of spaces in order to escape, digging holes under fences (digging is another thing they love, so if you appreciate your gardening, this may not be a breed for you), I've even seen these dogs chew their way out of a dog cage. Once you have an escapee Husky, you may never get it back. Most of them can run for 2 miles straight without stopping, maybe more.
The hair is another issue, these dogs shed a lot and they go through what is called "blowing their coat" twice a year in which they completely shed their undercoat. You can fill literally garbage bags full. I have to vaccum everyday because everyday I have a new layer of hair covering my carpet.
If you're looking for a dog that's easy to train, this is not the dog. Yes, these dogs are highly intelligent, but they're not that obedient. They're very free spirited and independent, and will obey if they see a reasoning to what they're being asked.
Other than these main points, these dogs make wonderful companions as long as you can give them the excercise they need.
My boy is quite an exception due to his age, but he still carries some of these traits. It's not a dog I'd reccomend for a first time owner (he was my first dog, but I researched the breed for 10 years before I got one), but if you feel prepared to care for such a unique and different dog such as the Siberian Husky, best of luck to you and I definetly hope it works out well. Just please do your research, because a lot of people get these dogs for their beauty and don't understand what they need or understand their personality and I see way too many Huskies in shelters because of this.
Hope this information has been helpful.
EDIT: I noticed a lot of people mentioning not to get them in a warm climate. Just to let you know, a Siberian Husky will be absolutely fine in a warmer climate, as long as he/she is provided with shade and not left out there for hours on end. Their undercoat works in the heat the same way it works in the cold. Except in the cold, it keeps the warm. And believe it or not, in hot weather, that heavy undercoat actually helps keep the dog cool. So don't shave a Husky during hot weather.. you will be doing the dog a lot worse.

Depends on what you mean! What are you looking for a in a dog? Do you want a dog that is very active or pretty mellow? One that needs a lot of exercise outdoors or one that can get enough playing ball inside the house and walking on a leash? Do you have an apartment or a house with a yard? How much hair are you willing to put up with (some dogs shed a LOT of hair, some very little)? Do you mind a lot of barking (huskies also may howl or "sing") or do you want a dog that doesn't bark a lot?
Huskies can be great dogs, if they're the right dog for you. Research the dog breed and find out what it's like to live with, then decide for yourself!

Yes siberian huskys are wonderfull dogs they usualy have a great temperment.. But are not a dog for everyone, they like to keep very active and need an owner who is going to spend alot of time with them and take them out for lots and lots of exercise, remember they are are working dog and require lots of stimulation and interaction. If they don't get enough they can become very bored and some become escape artists.

They are my favorite. They're sweetest and softess dogs ever. I used to have one- well he was the family dog. He was always really energetic. The only bad thing is that as such a big dog they are prone to getting really bad arthritis when thier older. My dog lived the last 2 years of his life taking medicine for pain during the winter because of his arthritis. He lived to be like 16. But newayz they are great friendly beautiful dogs- i highly recommend them, unless you live in a hot climate like florida or texas- b/c most of the time Siberian Huskies cant deal and don't feel well in those temps.

Good for what? It depends what you are looking for in a dog. In terms of obedience, as with any dog, you get out what you put in in terms of training. They need plenty of running exercise, and often if they lack this they will have a tendency to run off. If they can't escape, they will make their own entertainment chewing or planning an escape. They also shed a lot.

yes they are good dogs, lots of energy they like lots of walks.also depending how you raise them they can have a tendency to be wanting to be the boss, also again watch them always around small children they after all a working dog who are in nature have to compete against each for positions and food . this is not the case today but it still in their DNA ,in short they make wonder full play companions outside and are fairly good at protection,a tad snitty around our dogs again the boss thing they are great when mixed with a lab as a cross this combination I find excellent. these are my opinions and only mine but it should give you some direction, remember, space, your amount of time with them research they before you get one or any dog. get one that fits your live style not one you think will. good luck
