I have 14 tattoos, and no, I've never had an adverse reaction, except regret over my first one (I was 17, and now I hate the design and location.) The only people I know who had problems were people who were prone to keloid scarring, and people who weren't very hygenic. As long as the tattoo is done by a reputable artist and cared for during the healing process, it should be fine.

No skin reactions or anything. But get her a Hep B vaccine first dose before she does it. Go with her so the artist does not charge more and to make sure the needle is new. It does not pain. If she wants it let her. In a place that is covered it is okay. Otherwise while job seeking it could get tough.

My husband and I both have several. The only issue we ever had was once my husband went to a friend of a friend (he definitely should've known better) and ended up with a severe staph infection in his arm. As long as she goes to a reputable place though there should be no issues.
She could always try a henna tattoo or one of those stick on ones they have some pretty elaborate ones now a days. They aren't permanent and would give her a chance to see if she likes it and the placement of it.
