It means having sex with your friend without any emotional or romantic attachment. Just for the sex. It is a lousy idea. Very demeaning and people with self-esteem don't do this. It's like being USED. Somebody's feelings always get hurt and it's usually the girl's.

Basically you do everything that couples do except you are not officially a couple and you can still see other people...they almost always end in disaster tho, because someone develops more feelings for another person and its not receptive.
