I was home-schooled, and graduated last year. The last couple months were really rough. What helped me was to have a goal in mind. I was planning a trip to visit a friend out of state, and my parents said I couldn't go unless I finished. I had already bought my tickets, so I couldn't let that happen. I knew I had to finish before June 10th to be able to go, and so I just buckled down.
My recommendation, come up with some kind of way to reward yourself for your hard work. Then, just keep looking ahead to that reward. Trust me, this works.
Hope you do well on your finals. -- B.A.

The last-minute cram! You certainly aren't alone in finding as you near the end of your deadline you've got a whole lot to do.
What this will require is really good time management. If you are supposed to take your finals Friday (I'm assuming this coming Friday?), then that means you really only have 4 days do to the 10 lessons. If you can aim to get 3 lessons done on Monday, say one in the morning, one in the afternoon and another in the evening, do 2 on Tuesday, then 3 on Wed., then 2 on Thursday, you will have it all done. (The 2 lessons on certain days give you a bit of a breather.) If you need more time on Thursday for studying, then try to do 3 each day, with the 1 remaining lesson on Thursday. If you need to speed things up even more, then increase the number you do per day. This may require you getting a very early start, working from, say, 7am-12pm, then from 1-5pm then again from 6-10pm.
Make sure to give yourself lots of breaks. Include little rewards, if need be. For example: if you've worked hard for a good hour, take a short break, treat yourself to a Christmas chocolate, then get back to work. If you finish a lesson, give yourself a bigger treat: a TV show or some time on the computer. It'll depend on how long it takes you to do the lesson. Included in these breaks are time to eat. Make sure to eat your breakfast, lunch and dinner and to not think about your school work during that time. And give yourself a nice break just before going to bed to unwind.
Other little tips: use a timer to make sure you take your breaks and also to help you stay focused; estimate how much time a particular part of a lesson will take you and try to finish in that time limit; keep yourself well hydrated--not enough water in your body means not enough water in your brain and it can't function as well; if you are religious in any way, include a prayer before you start working each time. You might also consider quickly drawing up a graph/table/chart with the lessons listed and when you finish one, put a big happy face in the appropriate box. Seeing our progress can help us stay motivated.
Good luck!

Do the math: you have 10 lessons, four days in which to complete them, so you do 2 1/2 lessons per day until you finish, then you write your final. It can be done, and you can do it. Give yourself a little reward at the end of each lesson -- go for a walk, go for a bike ride, do something active -- then go back and finish off the next one.
Hang in there -- once you finish your finals, you're off on Christmas break and have a lovely holiday ahead of you before you rejoin your classmates.

Keep your eye on the prize, girlfriend!
Make a sign that has your "prize" in big letters, then tape it to the wall where you will see it all the time. Make that your goal, your focus.
Another great way to motivate yourself is to give yourself a HUGE reward when you are done. Tell yourself, when you finish, you will get to have that reward. Make it something that will motivate you. Works for me :)
Lastly, call your homeschool buddies who are in the same boat as you and have a study group.
But overall, keep your eye on the prize.
Good luck!

Just think of how the sacrifices you need to make now will bring you what you will rejoice in, in the future. What seems really hard now will make you stronger, wiser, and eventually will be the basis of all future success. Hang in there, you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. BE A CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS!!!!!
