I have been getting this off and on. My gallbladder is gone so I know its not that. It scares me. The pain is bad. My doctor says its Fibromyalgia, but I dont believe it. It is only on the left side. Could it be stomach? I am 35 and scared. Does anyone else have this? Sometimes my left arm is a little numb too, but no pain in the arm. Thanks.

Unless you've previously been diagnosed with fibromyalgia because you meet all the diagnostic criteria for it, I think he's full of fertilizer.

How long has this been going on? Keep careful records as to when it gets worse and better, what kind of pain it is, etc. Abdominal pain is usually treated pretty seriously by a GOOD physician, because there are so many different things that can cause it!

It is possible that you're experiencing the results of a pinched nerve in your spine, considering the numbness. If possible, get a referral to a neurologist to have that ruled out.

Good luck!

I suggest you seek out a different doctor and see a cardiologist for a stress test. Since you don't have a gallbladder, your bad cholesterol could be very high. That can be dangerous. You must begin to monitor what you eat, healthy food is essential. Stop all fatty foods, sodas, sugary foods, limit alcohol and caffeine. By all means, get daily exercise. Walking is a great way to go.

You are 35 and usually that can mean the beginning of perimenopause. This means that you have changes in hormones. But, that is just one answer.

You need a total evaluation by a doctor who will listen to you. It is not normal to have numbness or pain.

I would see another doctor. Not to begrudge them, but they seem to be brushing you off. Fibromyalgia requires a number of tender points, not just two, and they need to be on both sides of the body. They seem to be treating it as a psychosomatic disorder.
Also, your symptoms could be something serious, such as a heart attack. Women tend to present more often with symptoms that are not typical. Yours are fairly typical, so it would be a good bet to get it checked out. See a doctor (maybe a different one) and get checked out soon! It's better to be safe than sorry.

I would be scared too. I know someone who had this kind of pain and it was his heart. If your doctor will not help you, go to another one. There are lots of walk in clinics around. You need another opinion.
With fibromyalgia, there is pain in other areas as well, not just in one area.

I'm not familiar with the symptoms of fibromyalgia but I'm sure you can google it.
It sounds more like you have a pinched nerve - assuming of course that your doctor has ruled out angina, which is your heart.

Pinched nerve? Could be what they call a fatty tumor. It's a harmless tumor that puts pressure on you and causes pain. My daughter was having similar problems and that's what it was. They usually don't take them out unless they are very bothersome. I believe they found it on an ultrsound.
