I know different cultures have different limits on the rights a man has over a woman, but, in general, where do you stop? I mean, women are allowed to slap men, so aren't men allowed the same? Is it okay for your boyfriend/husband to hit you if you deserved it?

If a woman hits a guy, I think he has the right to hit her back but with some restraint...not as hard as he can...however most guys I know wouldn't hit a woman even if she was sitting on him pummelling him...preferably he'll just restrain her until she calms down and isn't trying to strike anymore...
A guy should never strike a woman first however...but then, a woman shouldn't strike first either...

Well I'm not real large, but I have been slapped a few times by girls and believe me there's a difference between a girl slap and a guy slap. A guy has more force in his arm usually and a bigger hand. Most girls bones are more delicate than a guy so they would break easier. You don't see too many female prizefighters. I've slapped my g/f on the a-- for tickling me but i'd never hit her on her body or face. I want my hands to be for love and not abuse. Maybe a girl does deserve a slap, but sometimes kids deserve a slap but we don't do that! So its not OK.They are too easily hurt. I think girls are beat up by guys because they are an easy target.

nooooooooooo..... men are not suppose to hit women ... men are stonger, it is possible to seriously hurt a women like that.. besides not men should hit a women because thats just disrespectful no matter what... thats why it is illegal.. and a women could easily put a man in jail for that..by the way that same goes to women.. women are not allowed to hit women. women are not generally accused on physical abused because they are usually victimized and are more weaker.... ( im just saying it as how people would generally think of it as.... it doesn't mean i do think it)

Guys are a lot stronger than women in most cases. Any kind of abuse whether it is physical or emotional abuse isn't appropiate for a healthy relationship. If you did something wrong he shouldn't hit you for it. you should let him know how you feel about the situation and if he doesn't change leave him. If he relly loves you he wouldn't hit you.

There is no reason why anyone should be putting their hands on another person in an abusive manner. Women really aren't allowed to slap men, its just that when its done, it often goes unreported.

women are not allowed to slap or abuse their husband with violence and men are not allowed to do it either husbands and wives are meant to love and support one another not hate and hurt.

No one has the right to hit anyone regardless on how mad they get even if they are a boyfriend or husband but only the victim should know when enough is enough...abuse is abuse no matter how you look at it..

Hitting is never acceptable. Women shouldn't hit men and vice-versa. There shouldn't be a point where it should stop b/c it shouldn't have started to begin with.

No it isn't ok. Hitting is abuse. You shouldn't have to experience any kind of abuse whether it's mental or phyiscal abuse. If you're in that type of situation get away from that relationship before something bad happens and you get hurt.

He shouldn't hit you, even if you deserve it, and you shouldn't hit him, even if he deserved it. Even if you provoked him.
Women aren't "allowed" to hit men, anymore than they are "allowed" to hit women. It's wrong, and disrespectful, just as it would be if he hit her.
