In France, where style is always the name of the game, those in the know drink their Cognac over ice in tall, slender glasses, mixed with all manner of juices and sodas. It helps.

1. You could drink it out of a wide mouthed shot glass instead of a snifter. The snifter intensifies the aromas on your nasal palate as well as on your tongue.

2. You could keep the snifter and mix in Benedictine, hot water and a twist of lemon for a great winter toddy.
