I was walking along my local high street one saturday a few weeks ago. A young guy came up to me and asked me "Do you know Jesus at all?" I said "Oh, you're not going to try and sell me any religious crap, are you?" to which he responded "There's no need to be offensive"
What's wrong with this scenario? I didn't approach him. I know what he's offereing me and I have a very low opinion of it, so I cut to the chase and told him. And I'll do it again. Non-believers are being pummelled by god-worshippers of various faiths who think they have a right to talk gibberish at us without any negative response.

Yeah, but we must take this scripture in contexts. Jesus was talking about people who pray to make a name for themselves. So they look holy. For there at this time was people wearing the garments and going on like they were something. Your post however is about street preaching. Well Jesus spoke in public, Jeremiah spoke in public Paul spoke in public. THESE PEOPLE WERE NOT CONFINED TO A BUILDING. But went to wear the people were at. In order to catch bait you need to go to where the thing you are after is at. One example of this is when some disciples were out fishing and caught nothing and Jesus told them to go and fish
luke 5 (below). Now Jesus later said that He will make them catchers of men (preachers of the gospel winning souls). Therefore fishers of men must be where they are at to collect the best yeild possible so that many souls can be saved. Jesus also said the Ye are the Light of the World and that a Light should shine openly so that all can see and not hid out of view.
However I dnt like da angry street preachers with their bad attitudes who go around annoying people. To be more clear I am talking about the ones who get upset and wanna be rude to n e one going by, or just dont know what they are doing. But I am all for street evangelism it just must be done right.

In that passage it seemed he was talking of people in the synagogues who flashed their faith as if to say they were better than others. (usually rich and learned people who were praying as though for the benefit of those around them)(the is also the difference of preaching and praying as above)
That people on the street preaching these days are mostly crazy.

No,, im too lazy to look up which verse in Bible... but the bible actively encourages Christains to convert others and save them ... thinks of the disciples that Jesus sent out into the world to spread the word of god...
there is a difference between praying and preaching

Jesus was a street preacher, tho he prefered the hillsides because the people flocked to hear him. That he taught different than scripture was a given, something we no longer allow for some strange reason. I saw a street preacher once, his partner was oogling little girls while we were supposed to be listening, don't they realize we have eyes that see?

That verse is talking about people who pray for show. That does not mean that we are not to tell people about Jesus. He tells us to do that so that He can come after everyone knows. Matthew 24:14. If your neighbors house were on fire and you knew they would die if you did not tell them....would you tell them? This is even more important as it has to do with their eternal life. It is our responsibility to help save everyone we can. If we do not do this God will hold us accountable.

Dontcha think preaching and praying are two different things? Hmm? In one you are speaking to the general public (it's called FREE SPEECH btw) and in the other you are speaking to God.
