What makes you think you have the right to tell me what to do, especially if I am someplace it is legal to smoke. If I am in a bar where smoking is legal, and my cigarette bothers you, move.
Second hand smoke bothering you? Go someplace else. If I am outside and enjoying a cigarette, why should you come over to me to tell me that my smoke is bothering you? If you can come my way to tell me that, you can just as easily go the other way, away from where the smoke is. If there is no law against it, why can't I smoke wherever, and whenever I want. If it bothers you, become active in politics, and enact a law. Other than that, you don't like my smoking, go somewhere else.
And, stop ruining the air that I breathe with your nasty onion breath.

Smokers are becoming the minority, and that hurts. I ate in a restaurant the other day, the smoke was so bad.... We told the waitress we either had to have a table away from these smokers or we were leaving. Surprising, four other guests asked the same thing. Management asked the smokers to move to the very end where there was proper ventilation.
With Asthma and Emphysema it chocks me up right away.
If they want to smoke they can go where it doesn't bother others, I have my rights too.

First of all let me say this, I smoke and wish I didn't. I try to be very concious of others, not smoking when I know it will bother someone. But when I am in a place where smoking is allowed or outside, then it is my right to do so. I am allergic to colognes and other scents. I end up with horrible migraines that make me so sick that I puke from people who think they smell so good that they have to just layer the crap on. Do I have an option of a "scent free" restaurant? No. Do I tell others "Please go wash you're making me sick?" No. I just try to get as far away from the offending person as I possibly can without making them feel self concious or ashamed. I wish non smokers would be as tolerant as I am when it comes to scents. At least they can go to smoke free places, I'm bombarded with perfumes everywhere I go.

Everyone is aware that smoking is health hazardous. Its addictive. Its a stupid that we smokers have picked up. We can't just quit. Heard the saying *a hard habit to break*? Think about should someone tell you to stop doing something you like. The earth is a better place to live if we practice tolerance and consideration to others.

Smoking [I think] is a very sensitive subject in the United States right now. Some people think they should have the freedom to smoke whenever and wherever they want to, and others think they have the right NOT to have to breathe in other peoples smoke. It's just a very touchy subject, and I would have to say that a lot of people are very sensitive about it.

Im luck here in australia they are banning smoking in most places which is great (im a non smoker, but used to be a chain smoker)
when i used to smoke i felt bad for smoking near people that didnt like it.
ALSO other peoples smoke takes time off of my life.. go to realage.com and do the test for yourself..
if your around someone smoking for 1 hour then its like you have had 3 cigarettes...
i CHOSE not to smoke so why should i have to 'smoke' their smoke?? it pisses me off that they dont realise they are killing themselves and let themselves kill us 2...

i smoke. i prefer if i smoke around someone that doesnt smoke to either tell me not to smoke or atleast keep a safe distantes. i always move when i smoke. i try to be very ummmm nice...i guess. no one should be reluctant to ask for someone to put out a cig. or to move. second hand smoke is a big deal. i believe in the laws.

I notice that smokers are really defensive about smoking. Every smoker I have known has gotten downright nasty if I bring up them quitting, or asking them to stop around me. They make so many excuses for it.

I am not reluctant. I tell them not to smoke because of my asthma. No one will ever be allowed to smoke in my home nor will I go to a restaurant where they allow smoking.

Because people who smoke have as much right to smoke as other people have not to smoke. It can be hard to tell someone to go away when they are doing something they allowed to do.
