Scruffy family pet (Airdale mix) of Dennis Mitchell on the classic sitcom DENNIS THE MENACE/1959. Called Pluto in real life, Ruff was trained by Bob Blair and owned by Frank Inn ( of Benji Fame). In the spin-off theatrical movies Dennis the Menace (1993) and its sequel Dennis the Menace Strikes Again, a Briard breed named Rosie played the role of Dennis' dog, Ruff.

Dennis the Menace's dog is an Old English Sheepdog. Just look at the pictures, and you will see this is true, if you are talking about the cartoon.

I think that Gnasher looks a little like a cross between an Affenpinscher & a Cairn Terrier ... though I always imagined him to be slightly taller.
What do you think?
