I don't know why some folks are having a literal hissyfit over your question. It's the truth. Look around for god's sake, when you see that 19 year-old mom with the tired, worn-out and forlorn expression, toting her kids around the local Target your first guess isn't, "oh, I bet she's a Liberal Arts major at UCLA!" Hell no. The first thing that comes to your mind is, "poor girl never made it to college..." Let's not mince words here, the higher educated you are, the more concerned you are about your financial stability and prosperity, which will enable you to provide everything and more for your family.
Higher education is now a means to the good life. And the good life is incredibly difficult to attain if you don't have some sort of degree-- even a degree from a technical school like Devry will ensure a great future in the computer/tech field. Now add kids into the mix and you have more money going out than money coming in. This is precisely why higher educated folks stop having children after 2 or 3, the more kids, the more costs.
Look at the skyrocketing cost of college tuitions. My husband and I live financially free and comfortable lives, but I'm scared out of my mind as to how we're going to afford college for our kids and keep up our standard of living without cutting some major corners. And yeah, we're both college educated, but we're not professionals, not in the least. But we knew from day one that 2 kids was our cap. We've always wanted to enrich the lives of our children with things like vacations in far off places to really open their eyes to the world around them. If we had like 4 or 5 kids, no way would we be able to afford such things.

Hmm...
I had all 3 of my kids by the age of 20. I also have a college education.
I agree with the first answer. It is difficult for any parent to continue their education with a child to care for. But, it also comes down to having and making a choice. I wanted to go to college and I did. The fact that I had children didn't stop me. If anything, being a Mom made me more determined to go after that degree. Something to think about tho.....while it may be the dream of some to be 'higher educated', others dream to have and raise a large family. The last I knew, it's possible to do that with just a high school diploma.

i don't think that is a true statement. yes kids can put a damper on your education but just because you are not educated doesn't mean you have all the kids. I know alot of "higher educated" ppl that have 5 or 6 kids and the same goes for the lower educated ppl i know...i guess you could consider me "lower educated" and i have 2 children.....that is just a stupid remark on your part.

It seems like getting pregnant at a young age does put a damper in education. Dumb people usually have more kids because they lack the common sense to use birth control.
I'm not sure what the average age according to economic standing is for childbearing.

I think that your question is totally ludicrous. My husband and I are both educated people, and we have 4 wonderful children. This was a choice on our part, not stupidity.

Education makes our brains go wild.
When we are educated, we expect more out of each other.Less education makes one more sensitive--physically as well as mentally.
Love then means having sexual pleasure, that results in more children.
Less education makes a person GOD fearing, religious,so doesnt belive in contraceptives.this make him/her bear more children.

I read in a book once that fertility is based on the following from most fertile to least fertile:
13 year old girl
participant of a one night stand
couple in a meaningful relationship
newly weds
married couple, financially secure and ready to have a baby (this is where you'll see the most infertility).

Thats like the most uneducated statement I've seen on here in a long time..you should probably get your figures in order before you go around making dumb&!s remarks like that. You can't even get your spelling right..maybe you shouldn't have kids. Get a life! In one of your other questions you were asking what it meant to be late with your period (stating you had used protection and that your boyfriend pulled out EVERYtime..then in another question you asked..you stated you were a virgin. I'm not sure what to believe from you.
