I love most red wines. One of my favorites is Zinfandel. Zinfandel can be light to full bodied. It can be rich and spicy or lighter and fruitier. Aromas and flavors that are typical for Zinfandel include raspberry, jam, black pepper, and licorice. Zinfandel is wonderful with steaks, grilled meats, and tomato based dishes.
Here's a list of some of the best:
De Loach 2003 Russian River Zinfandel
Renwood 2002 Old Vine Zinfandel
Renwood 2003 Jack Rabbit Flat Zinfandel
Ridge 2003 York Creek Zinfandel
Seghesio 2004 Old Vine Zinfandel
Seghesio 2005 Sonoma Zinfandel

I love Ravenswood Zinfandel wine. It usually retails for about $14-18 and it has a fairly braod ditribution so you should be able to find it at a local wine or liquor store. It tastes like classic zinfandel--lots of jammy flavors with a nice bit of pepper to cut the sweetness.
