I just answered this the other day for someone... I guess we were all exposed during the summer by going barefoot:
Salycillic acid on the wart (the "plantar wart" meds) and then cover it with a generous strip of duct tape. Don't remove the tape for 3-4 days. It will stink, but it worked for my daughter.
Once you remove it, it will be soft and mushy. Scrape it as far down as you can with clippers or a razor blade, but be careful not to make yourself bleed.
Repeat again until it's gone. The tape doesn't allow the wart to breathe.
Those buggers hurt and they are so hard to get rid of.
BTW, it's better if you get new shoes, because the virus is probably in the shoes you are wearing. It won't go through the tape though.

I had plantar warts years ago. I tried everything that could be used until I get into herbal medicine. I used garlic oil religiously and those warts went away and have not come back. I would suggest using garlic oil. Here is what you will need to make your own garlic oil.
1-12 ounce bottle of extra virgin olive oil
6-cloves of garlic, minced
Dump the entire bottle of oil into a saucepan and add the garlic. Put the saucepan over the lowest heat on your stove. Do not let the garlice burn. The best thing to do is watch the garlic rise to the top of the oil. Once most of the garlic has risen to the top of the oil, take the pan off of the heat and let it cool. Using a small strainer, put the oil back into the bottle. Use the oil on the warts up to twice a day.
Cover the warts with bandaids to prevent the garlic oil from getting onto your socks. It took about two months for the warts to completely go away and these warts were huge.
