Why are people so abusive to catholic questions. mostly athiests.?

All the question that I read in R+S, had good answers and abusive answers. the people with the most abusive answers had names which included athiests. why so abusive to these questions.

I don't know. I just read a question on the side of atheist's attempting to explain how atheists have higher moral values than people following religions or believing in deities.

I don't know the situation, so I would not judge the whole belief system on just the people who are right here on Yahoo Answers. It is a larger world than that.

But I would just say, "If they really believe there is nothing concerning a higher power, that what are they fighting so hard against?" According to them there is nothing, so why are they fighting and what are the fighting ( or debating, rather ), about.

If they belief there is nothing, why do they have a problem with us believing in what they think is nothing? How can that harm them.

Doesn't matter, because we know better, right?!

Because the Catholic Church is the true Church. The other denominations do not threaten them as much as the Catholic Church does. Lets be honest, most Atheists by not honoring God do honor the evil one, so he gets wild when a Catholic question comes up that is answered honestly and reasonably and inspires them to go berserk with their ridicule. I think this goes for some of the more aggressive fundies too.

Probably because most people who become atheist are into some whacked out religion, is because they first where catholic and the seen how horrible it is and are turned off of God ,The catholic religion is designed to make people run from God but every once in a while you still hear of one that got saved

Could be some were molested by Catholic priests or read about it so they lump them all together. I was totally screamed at obscenely (quite often in fact!) by them on questions involving homosexuality and the Bible as if every Christian was a hate-mongering sign carrying Fred Phelps. Take it all in stride!

I am no atheist, sir. I am a full-gospel believer of the Holy Word of God. I attend a Pentecostal church, so I know what it feels like to have people think you are crazy. But I do answer questions about catholicism in a negative way. Because I study the Word. I believe what it says. Catholics are idolaters, among other things. I know this to be true because as a young child, I was taught the catholic ways by my father's side of the family, who were all catholic Italians. Try to tell me that Mary can intercede for me. You are a liar, sir. Only Christ can intercede for us. Try to tell me that I need to confess my sins to a priest. You are a liar, sir. I confess my sins to God, and ask for forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ. Try to tell me that I should perform an act of contrition to atone for sin. You are a liar, sir. Jesus paid the price for every sin that ever was or will be commited. Try to tell me of limbo. You are a liar, sir. If you fail to acquire salvation in this life, you will burn in hellfire. Try to tell me that your statues of Mary, saints, angels and even your crucifixes are not idols. You are a liar, sir. Idols are things to be looked at and worshipped. Even the crucifix. I love my Lord for dying for my sins, so I can enter into the Kingdom of God, but my Christ was taken from that cross, buried, and resurrected from the dead to ascend into heaven. I praise God for that act, but I will not keep an idol to depict it. He is no longer on that cross. Try to tell me that saints can intercede for me. You lie once again, sir. Only Christ can do that. You see, I know the ways of catholicism. Enough to know that they are wrong. I do not say these things out of anger, or hate. But out of my heart in love through Christ, that you may see the error of your ways, and repent. Read the book of Matthew. The sermon on the mount should be enough alone to show you that catholicism is a false, and dangerous religion that stands on ceremony alone. I have never heard a catholic speak about being filled with the Holy Ghost. This is a necessity to be a faithful Christian. Jesus said there would be many false Christs. The catholic religion serves one of those. I know. I've been there.

I believe these people have to force themselves to defend their non-believing and find that Catholicism or other religions, sects, belief systems make them face their own desperate empty futures. We have the comfort of knowing that after our short time on earth then we have the opportunity to be with our God forever. If atheists and others don't believe in our belief systems then it is a tragedy for them ... not for us. We must pray that they will accept Almighty God as their Master, Lord, and Savior. If they do not then we should shake their dust off our sandals and leave them alone.
