Does the baby spit up with Milk? You may want to try and change to soy or asodopholis (sp?) milk. I'd def ask the Dr.
Just incase you're worried about changing to soy or another milk...
My Mother in Law is a vegan and does not eat or drink anything derived from an animal and she only has soy milk in her house, I asked the Dr if it was ok that my daughter drank the soy milk while at her house and he said there wouldn't be a problem. I've never seen a problem. And like someone else said if the baby still spits up at least you know it's not the milk.

If it is true reflux, it probably won't matter if you switch milks like others have said. Is your child on medication for reflux? My daughter has severe reflux. She has had surgery (called a Nissen Fundoplication) to prevent reflux. She also has a g -tube. because of the fundoplication she can't spit up, throw up, or burp. If she gets air in her tummy or needs to spit up, she gags with great force. I have to vent her tummy through her g-tube to let out any excess air or formula. She is also on two medications for reflux even though she has had the surgery. Reglan and Prevacid. She had the surgery at 2 months and is now almost 13 months. I would definanlt talk to his pediatrician about it, because if he/she still spits up that much and is on medication he/she may need a different one. If the surgery were reccommended to you do a lot of research on it. I would not change the fact that she had it, but wish I had known more about it at that point, rather than learning along the way. Good Luck.

I am sure this wont help, but my sister in law, still has bad acid reflux and still, what some would call, spits up... you know tastes the bile in your mouth even as you may burp, to me thats like spitting up, but its all from her reflux...so, one year may not be that bad unless its something other than reflux

You may need to have your baby's meds adjusted. The dose might have to go up; or the baby might just need a new medication. From what I understand, it's usually best to have the baby on something like Zantac (for the pain) and Reglan to empty the stomach and promote healing. Switching formula will not help reflux. I hope you find a way to help alleviate your baby's discomfort. GOOD LUCK.

the two one in all my teenagers had severe acid reflux ailment. They weren't "satisfied spitters." yet your daughter looks like one. All teenagers reflux. some teenagers reflux way extra desirable than others. and a few teenagers have soreness linked with it, or are unable to hold down sufficient nutrition to earnings weight ideal. looks like your daughter does not have the two of those problems, so, in the absence of different indications, it quite is not a situation. you do no longer could adjust her formulation. she would be ready to advance out of it, slowly, and could no longer quite spit up at in the time of the time she's 8 or 9 months old. meanwhile, it quite is gross, inspite of the undeniable fact that it quite is fantastic. it quite is basically how your daughter is. yet attempt this test: once you have a spare 2d, degree out an oz. or 2 of water, and pour it on the floor or the kitchen counter. Then evaluate the way that looks to what you're seeing whilst your daughter spits. My prediction is that she's quite no longer spitting up that plenty, on account that she's gaining weight, and it would be obtrusive once you spot what an oz. of liquid quite feels like. If she quite is spitting up distinctive ouncesat a time, enable her pediatrician understand, basically in case he/she has a distinctive clinical care advice for you. i think of, however, consistent with what you have pronounced, you have a attractiveness and hygienic situation, yet no longer a clinical one. you will basically be doing quite some laundry for a on an identical time as. does no longer or no longer it quite is extraordinary in the event that they made toddler raincoats or some thing? :)

My daughter is 17 months with acid reflux (diagnosed at 1 week old). She is on Prevacid but has been on everything from Prilosec to Prevacid (all adult doses). She hasn't spit up recently but her doctor told us that it was a possibility when switching to milk so she is still on formula (4 ounces of Alimentum and 4 ounces of Milk). Best advice...don't do straight milk...

My son was a glutten. He would drink his milk down so fast and when he burped he'd spew it out like a fountain. I can't remember when it stopped. As long as he's not in pain or sick throwing up at other times I wouldn't worry.
If your child is over year, he/she doesn't really need much formula now. Should be on whole milk now. Baby may not need as much milk. Try to fill em up on food and cereals. Also introduce more water. Not too much juice tho, they tend to wanna fill up on that instead of food. If you give a little juice, water it down.

you should probably switch to soymilk. It won't harm the child to switch, and if it doesn't help the problem, at least you'll know that milk is NOT the problem.
